Barelwi belief.
Ahmad Raza Khan, explains Hazir and Nazir as follows [Jâ’ al-Haqq (1/160)]:
The Islamic meaning of being omnipresent and omniscient is that the one who possesses this holy power is able to see the world just like he can see his own hand, form the place where he is present. He can hear sounds from both near and far. He can go around the world in an instant to help those who are in distress and answer supplicants.

Re: Barelwi belief.
Islamtoday got the author wrong this time. Ahmed yaar khan stated that not ahmed raza (ra).
The beliefs that the Prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam):
a) Can provide assistance through supplication
b) Is aware or made aware of our deeds/actions (by Allah (azza wajal)'s permission)
are not confined to the brelwi's only.
Wassalaam

Re: Barelwi belief.
the belief that the Prophet (Saw) can be wherever he wishes to, and help his ummah is not a brelwi belief. how do you explain people seeing him in dreams? seeing him (saw) while they are awake??
Imam suyuti (Ra) (not a "brelwi")-
"if someone belives that while performing milad sharif, or at the end of ramadan or while reciting qasida sharif, that the Prophet's soul is present on these occasions, then to belive this is perfectly acceptable" - sharh sudoor
"to keep watch of his own followers work and to pray for their forgiveness, to pray for their abstention from bad deeds, to come and go in all parts of the world to give auspiciousness, if one pious person dies from his followers then to come and attend the janazah, all of this is done by the holy Prophet (saw)" - intibahul azkiyya.
Imam Ghazzali (ra) (came before brelwi-ism) - "When you go into a mosque then say salam to the Prophet (saw) because he is present in mosques" - mirqat sharh mishkat . also he said "those with insight of the heart see the Prophets and angels while awake and even speak to them" - munqiz minad dalaal
Qadi Iyad (ra) (great classical scholar who is accepted by the arab (non brelwi's) as well as the entire ummah. says:
"if there is no-one in the house then say "assalamu ala al-nabbiyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu" - ash-shifa. mulla ali al qari commentates - "meaing because his soul is present in the house of the muslims"
-imam busiri (Ra)'s qasida burda sharif (accepted by non brelwis) - is a classic example of the Prophet (saw) helping an individual. im not going to recall the whole story here.
lets see what deobandi scholars make of it-
maulana rashid ahmed gangohi (ra) about the presence of a person's sheikh-
"a mureed should have certainty that the soul of his sheikh is not confined to one area. even if the disciple is far, near or physically distant from the sheikh, the masters spirituality isnt far from him.....
...the disciple is needy of the sheikh in his affairs. the sheikh should be made haazir (present) in your heart and through the voice of condition, you should ask from him. through the order of Allah, the soul of the sheikh will inspire" - imdaadus sulook
theres loads more that can be written - but the point im making by using these scholars is that its not "just" a brelwi belief. understand that. i dont expect many people to appreciate these points but hey nevermind.

Rida, the author of the BOOK is Ahmad Yaar Khan, but IslamToday quotes Ahmad Raza in it.
Are you basing your rejection of IslamToday based on just your knowledge of who wrote the book, or are you saying that you know for a fact that Ahmad Yar Khan did not quote Ahmad Raza in it?

Re: Barelwi belief.
I dont believe in any of the Barelwi Hazir Nazir stuff
...But I love how Jaysh is trying to cover up his devious belief that the Prophet SAW's soul is not in heaven and created this thread just to divert attention from his belief...

OK, let me get this straight. On the one hand, you people say that the Prophet [s] is alive in this worldly life and on the other hand you say that he is in the life of Paradise!
Which is it !?!?!? You are seriously confused and furthering two opposing views. On the one hand, you are arguing that his soul is now in heaven (the afterlife). On the other hand, you are saying that he [s] is alive in his grave, physically in his body!
