From what i've noticed the Haqqani's that usually end up doing weird stuff like this are recent reverts who aren't really aware of the rules of islam.
If you look at some of the older and more mature mureeds you'll see that they don't engage in many of these shady activities.

Honestly, I haven't really looked into the man himself, just his students and what they say and believe.

The guy singing isn't a recent revert. He is crazy if you look at his songs and such

Do you know more about him and when he reverted?
I only ask because whenever I myself have witnessed this type of behavior from haqqani mureeds, it is mostly from recently reverted newbs.

As far as I can gather Chico was born into an Islamic family, his father is described as a Sufi, not sure if he's a Haqqani though.
The guy is also unmarried and has a girlfriend..so who knows whats going on?

You're wrong - Chico got married to a lady that also reverted and has a baby daughter. The only reason I know this is because the Haqqanis son-in-law came to our area and Chico did that song Maulana, hiw wife and baby daughter were there also - apparently he is a changed man from the women ravishing guy he used to be.

Only a faqih truly comprehends the nuances of fiqh. I'm not defending any practices, just pointing out that I've seen arguments from minority opinions defending such things and I have no way of determining if thats accurate or not. |

AFAIK that was Hisham Kabbani, wasn't it? GF Haddad did refute him on this matter.
Anyway, I third the motion to stay silent on the Haqqanis. The best thing to do would be to just avoid them. If you feel they engage in egregious bidah, that can be refuted without mocking them. |
