It works both ways, since the sex thing is supposed to keep the partners from sin. You can always refuse, but why would you?

im referring to that hadeeth (i think?) that says if your husband calls you to bed you cant refuse or something along those lines...

it just seems kinda ocntradictory with all the other hadeeth saying women have to obey their husbands and stuff since we dont have to do something against our will...

The interpretation I've always read of the hadeeth is that angels will be unhappy with you the whole night IF you refused him for no reason, like you were just angry at him or something. If you have a real reason, like you're sick, or have PMS cramps or something, then it's okay. It's not meant to punish women (or men) just to impress the importance of that part of the relationship when it comes to keeping eachother from sin and such.

being angry with another person is a perfectly legit reason to not want to be intimate in my opinion. and why isnt there a hadeeth stating the opposite

Actually if only you had done a bit of H.W. It works both ways. If a husband is angry with his wife and she wants to have intimacy with him, and he refuses, then he is sining.


Also, how husband and wife deal with each other depends a lot on 'urf, the local customs and culture. There is quite a bit of flexibility.

I agree with you. When I get angry at him, I won't talk to him, touch him, hell I won't even look in his direction. I'd completely and utterly ignore his very existence. But...I'll finish what I have to say on MSN because I'm sure some will find it just too Haram.
