Qur'anic Verse of the Day
"Put forward to them the story of two men. To one of them, We gave two gardens of grapes, and We surrounded them with date-palms, and had put between them fields of corn. Without fault, each of these gardens brought forth its produce, and We caused a river to flow between them.
The man had plenty of fruit, and during a discussion with his friend, he said: 'I am more than you in wealth, and I am more powerful among people.' He went into his garden with a mentality which was unjust to himself, and said: 'I don't think any of this will ever perish, and I don't think that the Final Hour will come. If I do happen to return to my Lord, I will find better things there for me.'
During this discussion, his friend said: 'How can you disbelieve in the One who has created you from a type of clay, and then from a secreted fluid, and then has shaped you into a man? As for me, I believe He is Allah – my Lord, and I will never associate partners with my Lord. When you entered into your garden, it would have been better for you to say: 'Masha-Allah! This is what Allah has willed! There is no power except with Allah!'
'If you see me less than you in wealth and children, it may be that my Lord will give me something better than your garden, and may send on your one thunderbolts from the sky, so in the morning, it will turn into a barren slippery land. And the water of your garden may become deeply sunken underground, so you will no longer be able to reach it.'
One day, all his fruit were indeed ruined, and he was left turning his hands in grief over all that he had spent on it, but now it was all destroyed into pieces. He then exclaimed: 'Oh! if only I had not associated partners with my Lord!'
There was nobody who could help him other than Allah, nor could he help himself."

“This is the Book: in it is a guidance, without doubt, to those who fear Allah.
Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them.
And who believe in the Revelation sent to you, and sent before your time, and have the assurance of the Hereafter." Quran 2:1-3

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)
3:148 whereupon God granted them the rewards of this world, as well as the goodliest rewards of the life to come: for God loves the doers of good.

Re: Qur'anic Verse of the Day
"But the deeds of those who disbelieve is like a mirage in a desert: the thirsty person thinks there will be water but, when he gets there, he only finds God, who pays him his account in full - God is swift in reckoning." [Qur'an 24:39]

An Ayah A Day
Asalamualaikum Warahmatullahi
This thread is dedicated to posting an ayah a day that you've read or heard and think will benefit others, insha Allah also maybe act as a source of reward and most importantly serve as a reminder for ourselves from the amazing book that the Lord of the worlds has sent, our Merciful creator, who we trust in, Allah(swt).
I think this is a good ayah for today, as its the motivation for this thread and it has so much meaning, but thats for everybody else to take themselves when contemplating.
And remind, for the reminder benefits the believers. [51:55]
Peace

Re: Qur'anic Verse of the Day
*Gasps - Nooooooo islamica has a deleting policy now posts should end up in teh trash*
5:32 On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our apostles with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.

[2.223] Your wives are a tilth for you, so go into your tilth when you like, and do good beforehand for yourselves, and be careful (of your duty) to Allah, and know that you will meet Him, and give good news to the believers.

[4:16] If two men among you are guilty of lewdness, punish them both. If they repent and amend, Leave them alone; for Allah is Oft-returning, Most Merciful.

Re: Qur'anic Verse of the Day
The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things),
Until ye visit the graves.
But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality).

Re: Qur'anic Verse of the Day
Oh My servants who have transgressed against their own souls! Despair not the Mercy of God. Surely God forgives all sins, for He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Re: Qur'anic Verse of the Day
When angels take the souls of those who die in sin against their souls, they say: "In what (plight) Were ye?" They reply: "Weak and oppressed Were we in the earth." They say: "Was not the earth of Allah spacious enough for you to move yourselves away (From evil)?" Such men will find their abode in Hell,- What an evil refuge! - [Surah An-Nisa 4:95]

Re: Qur'anic Verse of the Day
And those who surpassed have indeed excelled.
It is they who are the close ones.
They are in Gardens of peace.
A large group from the earlier generations.
And a few from the latter. On studded thrones.
Reclining on them, facing each other.
Surrounded by immortal boys.
Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them.
Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses.
And fruits that they may like.
And meat of birds that they may wish.
And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. Like pearls safely hidden.
The reward for what they did.
They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin.
Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” And those on the right - how (fortunate) are those on the right!
Among thorn-less lote-trees.
And clusters of banana plants.
And in everlasting shade.
And in perpetually flowing water.
And plenty of fruits.
That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped.
And raised couches.
We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development.
So made them as maidens.
The beloved of their husbands, of one age.
For those on the right.
A large group from the earlier generations.
[Waqia`h 56:10-39]
