"Whatever Allah has given to His Messenger as war-booty from the people of the townships, is for Allah and His Messenger, and the relatives and the orphans, and the poor and the wayfarers, so that they may not become a fortune used by only the rich among you. So whatever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatever he forbids you, abstain from it, and be conscious of Allah. Indeed, Allah is severe in punishment." - (59:07)

"We have sent down to you the Book with the truth, confirming the Book that has come before it, and as a Guardian over it. So judge between them according to what Allah has sent down. Do not follow their desires which deviate from the truth that has come to you." - (5:48)

And (remember) when Allah laid a charge on those who had received the Scripture (He said): Ye are to expound it to mankind and not to hide it. But they flung it behind their backs and bought thereby a little gain. Verily evil is that which they have gained thereby. 3:187-Picktall

"Indeed, your Ummah is one Ummah, and I am your Lord, so be conscious of Me. But of them are those who divide themselves into sects, with each group rejoicing in what it has with them. So leave them in their ignorance for a while." - (23:52-54)

"It would not be right for any human-being to whom Allah has given the Book and Judgement and Prophethood, to say to the people: 'Become my servants, rather than Allah's.' Instead, they would say: 'Become knowledgable devotees of your Lord, through what you teach of the Book, and through what you study from it.' " - (3:79)

2:200 states which means And when you have performed your acts of worship, [continue to] bear God in mind as you would bear your own fathers in mind-nay, with a yet keener remembrance!* For there are people who [merely] pray, "O our Sustainer! Give us in this world" -and such shall not partake in the blessings of the life to come.

(2: 201) But there are among them such as pray, "O our Sustainer! Grant us good in this world and good in the life to come, and keep us safe from suffering through the fire":

(2: 202) it is these. that shall have their portion [of happiness] in return for what they have earned. And God is swift in reckoning.

The skin of those who revere their Lord shiver from it, and then their skin and hearts soften with the remembrance of Allah. Such is the guidance of Allah; He guides with it whomever He wills. But those whom Allah sends astray, for them there can be no guide." - (39:23)

My friend and I were studying for our Qur'an exam (which is on Monday ).

So we were sitting on these couches at school, going over all the surahs from our readings and stuff... we were reading them out loud and then discussing them.

And this girl who was sitting near us went like "Omg, that's scary."
And we were like "What're you talking about?"
And she was all "That's scary. The Qur'an."
So I was like "Hmmm. I suppose it kind of is."
And she was all "Yeah, the Bible's like that too..."

And then after we left, 'cause I didn't think she was comfortable with us there reading it out loud.
