Default fajr prayer

does anyone else have a hard time waking up for this? i go to work until midnight and get home and go to bed at about 2. i wake up at 11:00 and wake up for the prayers and do wuudoo(it is a pain but i go back to sleep so i have to do woodoo both times) and then pray, then go back to sleep. is this haram? i heard it was, to pray then go back to sleep. but it is impossible for me to stay up when i only get 4 hours of sleep

Asalam u alaikum,

It's not haram at all to sleep after Fajr prayer.
It is a Sunnah to stay up after Fajr, but it is not obligatory and in your case it is clearly a hardship to do so. You should make sure you learn about these things from solid sources such a a scholar or fiqh book, and not from hearsay.

I have a clock that is 20 minutes ahead infront of my bed. So when I see that Fajr time has passed on that clock, I get up because I'm scared that I missed Fajr

I dont know how, but I wake up on time, without my alarm clock- no matter how late I sleep. Kind of weird.

I use two alarm clocks but alhamdulillah fajr isn't much of a problem anyway.

best way is to schedule your job early...8 AM...so that you're forced to wake up fajr time

Most important thing, before you go to sleep make the intention to wake up for fajr.

Sleep at a reasonable hour so you are not in too deep a sleep when it is time for fajr.

On the first two days, use your alarm. The third day, you'll find that you automatically wake up around that time, because your body begins to become conditioned to the waking time.

Place your alarm far from you so you have to wake up and walk to turn it off. This usually helps with me. If my alarm is right next to me I'm more likely to just shut it off and go back to sleep.

Ask my husband to call and make sure I get up....with a promise to call back after we both pray and talk for 5 minutes until I/we fall asleep.
