Salafi Imam: We Must BELIEVE Arabs are “Master Race” « A Singular Voice

Do you agree with the Salafi imam that blacks are the master race? I thought there was no concept of such in Islam.

I guess I was wrong all along. No wonder why many Muslims discard their ethnic and cultural identity to be more Arab.

The Prophet (SAW) declared in his final sermon that no Arab has any superiority to a non-Arab, and so on.. very explicitly declaring all to be equal.

First of all, he never claimed that Arabs are the "master race".

Rather, the opinion that is held by some is that the Arabs are superior in جنس than the non-Arabs. This opinion is also held by many non-Salafis. Ever heard of Imam Shafi'i (whom you guys claim was not a Salafi)? To single out Salafis for this is ridiculous and you are a complete moron for that. There is not a Salafi vs non-Salafi issue. In fact, the Salafis tend to be much more egalitarian than the non-Salafis.

So you are an idiot for singling out Salafis for this. And so is the guy who created that blog you linked to. I noticed at one part he used Mustafa Akkad's movie "The Message" as a proof.

No doubt this belief--that Arabs are superior to non-Arabs--is refuted by the Prophet's explicit statement that no Arab is better than a non-Arab. No number of scholars can change that.

I once had an in-depth conversation with a scholar on this topic. He held the opinion that Arabs were superior in جنس than the non-Arabs. I had an hour long conversation with him, and talked to him about it on other occasions as well. I always begged him to show me hadeeths to back up his position, and he was unable to do that. After talking to him for a very very long time, and challenging him to show hadeeths to back up his position, I became convinced that this is an opinion that has no canonical proof whatsoever. Rather, the canonical texts (Quran and Sunnah) refute such a position.

The only thing Arabs were blessed with was the fact that God sent His Prophet amongst them. So they were favored in the same sense that Bani Israel was favored afore time. And we all know the fate of Bani Israel. When God says that He chooses a nation, it means that the Prophets will arise from them. That nation is thus put to the test. Bani Israel rejected its prophets, so we know that being chosen doesn't mean that they are superior. To give an analogy, George W. Bush comes from Texas. So in that sense, Texans have been chosen to have the president from amongst them. This does not mean that Californians are inferior to Texans; it just means that the president has to be from one state, and in this case, it was Texas. In the case of the last messenger, God chose the Arab nation.

And we know that Allah [swt] chose every nation on earth at one time or the other, since every nation was sent a messenger some time in the past.

Do you ever stop and think what you are writing, skin colour is not race and you do not know the colour of my skin any more than I know yours. The difference between us is I could care less, it obviously bothers you.
