Question relating to prayers...

My question is:
Why is it that women have to follow men in jamat?
Ok, so i know that it's not compulsory for a woman to attend
a mosque and because more men come to the mosque it's obvious
why women don't lead, but what about at home if there are more women
than men? Why is it not allowed then?

they are allowed to lead a women only congregation (although it is disliked within the hanafi madhab).

This was stated more succinctly than how I was planning on wording it... the idea's the same. When I accepted Islam I must admit I didn't become a eunuch, I simply would not be able to concentrate knowing there are females prostrated before me in such a way. It titillates and incites base animal desire.... how a man can say he can concentrate on Allah whilst in prostration behind a woman—surely you've a lie being told!

Nah... I've seen chicks pray, I can't say I find it too titillating. Aren't you supposed to be looking at the ground anyway?

In any case, in reverse, the girls have to look at the guys' rears... which is why I think a side by side configuration would work the best.

Yeh, I didn't quote that part because I wasn't lying. Girls praying isn't really a turn on. And I wouldn't pick anyone's ass to pray behind.

I don't know what you found 'intellectually unimpressive' about my post, because I was neither trying to make an intellectual statment nor impress anyone, but I did think the side by side scheme was a good idea if I do say so myself

It is true. We are suppose to hold our concentration, which is best done by looking at the ground. However humans, males specifically , are not perfect, specifically males in front of a line of women bending over in front of them in prayer. As much I have tried to fight it, it's really a lost cause.

Now, you are correct when you say that women look at the rear ends of guys. So totally true but we have better self-control over our bodies.

The mosque is a place of prayer and contemplation, especially during prayer time. It's for the concentration and comfort for both sexes - men and women.

For the men, so they maintain their concentration on the task at hand so their spiritual focus is clear, and for women so they don't feel uncomfortable that they might be looked at when they prostrate, so they can feel free of worry while they pray, and that their spiritual focus remain clear also.
