Default Friday

Asalamalaykumwarathmatullahbaraktuhu,

Insha'allah you are in the best of health, and strongest of Iman.
I thought I'd just msg everyone and remind them with a few things....

Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "
Friday is the best of days. It was on this day that prophet Adam (as) was created, it was on this day that he was granted entry into Jannah, it was on this day that he was removed from Jannah, and the day of resurrection will also take place on this day." (Muslim). May Allah's peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet.

For this Friday and every Friday, Try to Recite, or LISTEN (if it's hard for you to read it) to Surut AL Khahf (The Cave). It's Chapter 18 in the Qur'an.

Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him said, "Whoever recited Surrat Al-Kahf on a Friday, Allah will kindle for him abundant light to brightly illuminate the period between the two Fridays [the Friday on which the recitation was made and the next Friday." (Hakim).
May Allah's peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet.

Also do as much blessings on the Prophet Sallah Allahu Alayhee wa Salam as you can The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, 'Among the best of your days is Friday. On that day pray to Allah to exalt my mention frequently, for your such supplications are presented to me.' [Abu Dawud]

This is a reminder to me, before anyone else...and I hope it's a benefit to you all as well!

salaams,

jazakaAllah for the reminder.

can I just add this:

Abu Hurairah(radiAllahu anhum) narrated that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa salam) said:
"There is an hour on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while offering Salat (prayer) and asks something from Allah (Ta'ala), then Allah (Ta'ala) will definitely meet his demand." And he (the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) pointed out the shortness of that time with his hands."
[Sahih al-Bukhari]

I was looking for the ahadith Imam Anwar Awlaki mentioned on his "hereafter series". Here it is:

Narrated AbuHurayrah (r) The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was expelled (from Paradise), on it his contrition was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour, but not jinn and men, and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him

This is a strong reminder to pray Thajjud every Friday. Angel Jibraeel was surprised that men can even sleep when they've been told about the Day of Judgment.

And as Baba Ali says in his new video blogs: I remind myself before I remind any of you.

Please do not forget to read Surut Al Khahf today. For whom so ever reads surut al khahf on Friday, then insha'allah Allah swt will lighten up his path from this friday until the next friday. Do many prayers on Muhammed Sala Allahu Alayeh wa salam, and don't forget to make dua'a for yourself, your family, and your muslim ummah before Maghrib.

Dilemma...

My adviser is at a conference on Friday (tomorrow), which means we don't have our usual weekly meeting. Sadly there is also a seminar tomorrow. I have to attend 4 seminars, I've already attended 3. The seminar is at 1:10pm, same time as jummah.

Should I go to the seminar and get the requirement out of the way, or should I go to Jummah, and get attend the next seminar in 2 weeks?
