The Prophet of Islam's Foster Mother was Black
Excerpted from Why I Left the Nation of Islam
6.20 The Prophet of Islam’s Foster Mother was Black
Umm Ayman was a black slave-woman of Ethiopian descent. Prophet Muhammad ibn Abdullah freed her and thereafter she became like a foster mother to him. He used to refer to her as “my mother after my mother.” [1] When he would look at her, the Prophet of Islam would say: “This is the last surviving member of my immediate family.” [2] Umm Ayman would serve in the Islamic army as a field nurse in the battles of Uhud, Khaybar, and Hunayn. Today, she is revered by Muslims as one of the eminent female disciples of the Prophet.

Re: The Prophet of Islam's Foster Mother was Black
Can we just put all these in one thread; I think we all know how the Sahabah felt about race it's getting kind of creepy for an internet forums consisting of few blacks to have so many topics regarding them

I don't know, if he put them all in one thread, people would be less likely to read/remember them.
Personally I like it. To each his own i guess.

Maybe you could have a thread devoted to excerpts the way there are threads devoted to excerpts of other books.

Re: The Prophet of Islam's Foster Mother was Black
Why? These are different topics and they deserve different threads.
Anyways, it's amazing how islamicans worry less about material but more about useless things.

Come on people, what has gone to your heads?
Has it become a new islamican fad to pick on Hanbali?
Use your brains for the sake of thy Lord, and stop going with the dumb flow.

If only Imam Jaysh was here. There was none of this backtalk in his day. Kids these days, I dunno.

Why? Jaysh was getting into scuffles all the time; IMO was a bit on the obnoxious side if I do say so myself. Also had a very emotional writing style if I do recall correctly; like he was putting every bit of his soul into that keyboard as he typed. It must have taken a lot out of him Reminds me of that female cook in Like Water For Chocolate.
