The origin of lungis - with some light on awrah and culture
Salaams,
Aren't average Muslims these days so confused about awrah of men and women. Like if upper body of a man reveals while he is covering his awrah, its considered ultra bad. Yet when girls wear half sleeved dresses and show uncovered necks - many think that its normal.
Actually it would be perfectly right if men walk around in their lungis, like during hajj.
Discuss...

Re: The origin of lungis - with some light on awrah and culture
No one cares about your flabby arms. It's the fact that you said: "This is my bathroom photo taken by wifey."- what the hell type of foolishness is that? Bathroom = PRIVATE. Bathroom with wife = PRIVATE. Posting a picture that your wife took of you in the bathroom where it looks as if you're still drying in the shower= PRIVATE. But then you sit there with your fobby self trying to lecture others on the pictures they post.
You're a hypocrite. Go do some pushups.

Salaams,
I'll do pushups for wifey, thankyou.
And your kiddy minds assume too much... its a bathroom photo cos I was in bathroom with the door open and me stepping out.
Thanks for calling me a hypocrite though. I enjoy such remarks. The point that I wanted to has been made.
And I stand by what I said... islamically there is nothing wrong with men walking around in lungis.

Close your eyes.
And your post is another case in point... no one tells girls not to post their photos in half sleeved dresses.

That's true, but there is something wrong with posting bathroom pictures.

Yeah, what if you slipped in some poo. Then you'd have to go post in the poo thread.

but wouldn't a lungi/doti make it easier to go poo, since you just lift it up? Wouldn't that kind of reduce the chance of getting tangled in your pants and falling?

You do, and others have said things as well. I don't really care if you want to post a picture of yourself in a lungi or not, but that picture seemed private and therefore inappropriate for this forum.
I'm not sure what larger point you're trying to make, but why is it such an issue for you? Do you want to post pictures of yourself bare-chested? Then have at it - others have done it before. Or are you just trying to make heba feel bad?

Kona posted his shirtless pictures way before you and no one said that they were unIslamic so don't play that game.
What we are telling you is that posting PRIVATE BATHROOM PHOTOS TAKEN BY YOUR WIFE is disgusting, shameful, and entirely inappropriate, especially when you are constantly and indirectly [do you not have the balls to come out and say it?] *****ing about the pictures others post.

The problem is that you were in the bathroom. If you had been brushing your teeth in the kitchen, or had been wet and drying yourself off in the yard it would have been fine. Bathroom photos are taboo, period.
