That's an interesting point. I think pictures of little kids brushing their teeth or wrapped up in a towel would be cute, but once you become an adult, the kinds of pictures that you make public should be different.

I'm not sure what larger point you're trying to make, but why is it such an issue for you? Do you want to post pictures of yourself bare-chested? Then have at it - others have done it before. Or are you just trying to make heba feel bad?
|
The larger point is my first post in this thread. And I am not trying to make anyone feel bad, just trying to highlight a bad cultural norm.

What we are telling you is that posting PRIVATE BATHROOM PHOTOS TAKEN BY YOUR WIFE is disgusting, shameful, and entirely inappropriate.
|
1] I find it hard to reply to your posts because you dont know how to use the quote feature so I have to edit your post when I quote yours.
2] You are beating about the bush. Come again.

But I brush my teeth in bathroom and without my shirt most of the time with the door open. Its people's perception of all bathroom photos which needs to be changed then. Not everything should be painted with the same brush.

They USED to be cute, but with so many weird people on the internet these days, I wouldn't even post pictures of little kids doing anything in the bathroom. (and that's anything at all, not even brushing hair or blowing noses etc)

you're confusing two completely seperate issues. Issue one- being shirtless. Issue two- being in the bathroom. It's the bathroom part we have a problem with. I'm surprised you don't have a problem with it.
Why should the perceptions of the bathroom change? It's a private place where you take care of your private business. You're not going to start inviting guests to your house and start serving them dinner in the bathroom are you?

H2H: The larger point is my first post in this thread. And I am not trying to make anyone feel bad, just trying to highlight a bad cultural norm.
And once again that is where you are mistaken. To whom is it a 'bad cultural norm'? Almost all of us reside in the West where it is perfectly acceptable for guys to walk around shirtless. Two other guys, prior to you, have already posted their shirtless pictures and no one called them out on it being unIslamic.
So your 'larger point' is asinine, as are all the other points you miserably attempt to make.

Yeah, it might not be best to post pictures of any little kids then, which is too bad because I think the pictures are cute.
Anyway Hard2Hit, again, it's the nature of the picture you posted which is objectionable. I think you knew that before you posted though. If you have such a problem with women wearing short sleeves and no hijab, then you ought to start your own forum where such pictures are prohibited.

Rooms are private too... and many girls here have posted their hijabless pictures in their room. If I had posted one in my room everyone would go like "your room in private" ... "you and your wife in your room is private".

No, thats not the point of my post. We are here to share, discuss and debate, everyone does that. So now that I have posted that pic and you have showed your concern, would you move to another forum?
The pic should NOT be objectionable. All i'm saying is what is objectionable is mostly not pointed out by those who are making a perfectly halal pic objectionable, because "your culture" has taught you such.

Whatever dude. You knew it would cause a fuss, and you posted it anyway. You're desi for heavens sake, you live in Pakistan. I'm sure half the population there would be a little incensed by making such a picture public.
As for your pic being objectionable versus hijabless pics being objectionable, What are you crying about? Are you upset that we don't like you taking pics of yourself in the bathroom, and posting them online, or are you upset that girls don't wear hijab? They are two seperate issues.
