Please make du'a for me...
Asalaam Alaikum.
Please make du'a for me. I know that no one can "pray" (make obligatory prayer) for me. But please make du'a for me. I've experienced the "dark night of the soul" for roughly two years, and I don't know how to get out of this rut I'm in.

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah :
A funeral procession passed in front of us and the Prophet stood up and we too stood up. We said, 'O Allah's Apostle! This is the funeral procession of a Jew." He said, "Whenever you see a funeral procession, you should stand up."

The "dark night of the soul" is just an expression that means it is a time where the soul is hurting, and feels like there is no redemption;

What good will calling upon the Prophet will do to him in the time of need? Oh yes, you are calling unto the Prophet, but you do not see it. This is because you believe sending selawat onto a human being (Prophet Muhammad) will help bring ease to the soul.
"Those you call on other than Him (your Lord) do not possess as much as a seed’s shell. If you call on them they cannot hear you. Even if they heard you they cannot respond to you...." [Qur'an 35:13-14]
Your false diety, whom you label "Master/Lord (sayedna)" can do nothing for you as he is no longer alive, and cannot respond to you. Whether he is alive or not, you shall only seek Allah who is the only Provider. Why do you not urge him to seek the help of Allah ALONE without associating partners?

We agree that calling to other than Allah is shirk, but there is no calling out to other than Allah here, neither by words nor intent. Not only will sending salawat on the Prophet(S) bring ease to the soul, so will any good action, as actions are part of Iman. When actions increase, so does Imaan.
The aayaat you posted are irrelevant here.
My advice to the MuslimGuitarist is to repeat a dua the Prophet(S) made with Salaah:
"Yaa muqallabal-quloob, thabit qalbee 'ala deenik" ("th" in "thabit" is the three-dotted letter, and the first "a" in "'ala" is the letter ayn).
The meaning: "Oh turner of hearts, make my heart firm on your deen"
It'll help a lot inshaa Allah, if you say while feeling the meaning and knowing for sure that Allah will respond, as it is the wording that Rasoolullah(S) himself used.
