I testify there is no god but Allah, I seek Allah's forgiveness. I ask You for Paradise and I seek refuge in You from the Fire.

i remember something i read in this book a long time ago...i cant find the page so i'll just paraphrase it..

it was a quote from the great sufi ibn ata illah (ra) who said - "anybody who does not believe that Allah can take them in this very second and make them into a friend of Allah is ignorant of Allah's power"

a very interesting statement. that our becoming close to Allah is not because of our greatness or piety; rather our becoming close to Him is due to His infinite mercy and favour

people nowadays put limits where there are no limits. every single person can become a friend of Allah. not because we are great, but because He is. so everybody should have the highest aspirations; because its only if you desire to be a friend of Allah that Allah brings you close to Him.

?
But it's not questioning the blessing they've received. It's just wanting the same one.

Earthly rewards can come in the form of human beings?

it's questioning the blessings that you yourself have or have not received.

Is it necessarily?
Could be you desire the same blessing, but realize it's just not Allah's will for you to have it.

Uh, is this just a Bedouin tale or is there an Islamic basis for this?
