Re: Wajib Things
Female circumcision is wajib according the Shafi madhab - (It's the only wajib I know because it was on that topic that I discovered what it meant)

Re: Wajib Things
I was in Islamic class and the teacher pointed at me in her heavy arab accent: "You, explain haram and wajib"
I stepped up and proceeded to speak in a heavy Arab accent:
"HARAM is HARAMOOBOBi--boys, bebsi (if it support the yahood) and bublic school IZ HARAM! Wajib MEAAAAAAAANNZ you MUST do it! If I say it is wajib to KIZZ my feet YOU MUST!"
My class busted out with laughter.
My teacher: "GO BACK TO YOU SEAT!"
she loved me anyways

Do you make the distinction between
a) Female circumcision and FGM?
b) The Shafi madh'hab and the rest of the schools of thought?
c) that which is considered wajib by one school of thought, and that which is unanimously known to be fardh?
Please advise.
regards,

By female circumcision do you mean genital mutilation? They are 2 different things.

I'll answer this in the female circumcision thread.

No, it's wajib to say your sunnah prayers in Hanafi fiqh.
2 rakat before fajr
4 rakat before zuhr 2 rakat after
2 rakat after maghreb
2 rakat after isha and witr
I don't know about the other mahdabs on this issue.

these are sunnat-al-maukadah, definitely not wajib. wajib rakaats and sunnat-al-maukadah are distinct.

I didn't say the prayers themselves were wajib. The way I understand wajib, and the way my book reads, you have to say the confirmed sunnah prayers, your prayer is not really complete without them, and you are sinful if you omit them.

"A confirmed sunna (sunna mu’akkada) is something the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) invariably did, leaving only occasionally. One is rewarded for doing it and deserves blame for leaving it without excuse. It is sinful to persistently leave it."
The way I understand the meaning of wajib, performing these prayers is wajib.
Difference between confirmed and non-confirmed sunnas in terms of performance

many people agree that it is okay to eat meat as long as it is not pork, or from a dead animal, or sacrificed to a god other than allah
also, the quran allows the meat of christians and jews ie ppl of the book, so that also allows it

You're violating code C-2412 "There will be no discussion of that halalness of non-zabiha meat in this thread"
