I've heard non muslims be described as filth before as well as pigs and monkeys. This kind of talk always makes it easier to kill/dislike/not care for the opposing group but it exists in most systems of belief (even communism).

Actually some of the Rabbi's state that they are 'the Word'.
As in 'the Word was with God and the Word was God'.
Thats why they objected so strongly to Paul's claim that Jesus was exclusively 'the Word'.
