No she was not.
There's only been men as prophets. There have. however, been four perfect women recognized.
Asiya Wife of Pharoah
Maryam mother of Isa
Khadijah, first Wife of the Prophet
Fatimah daughter of the prophet
edit: YouTube - Why aren't there women Prophets in Islam

Re: Has there ever been a female prophet?
No, prophets are male. However, Maryam (as) mother of Jesus, has the highest status of any woman in Islam.

Re: Has there ever been a female prophet?
According to the Maturidi school, Maryam was a prophet but most scholars will say no.

Re: Has there ever been a female prophet?
Doesnt the maturidi aqeedah state that technically a women can be a prophet?
I believe there were some scholars in the past who believed Lady Maryam (as) to be a prophet (since she directly conversed with Angel jibraeel (as))..

Re: Has there ever been a female prophet?
Holy smokes, I asked the same question on Yahoo Answers and I got 40 replies in a couple of minutes. (it was in Christianity though)
Is Maryam Isa's mom?
*Edit... sorry I see you're post Jamroll
So I'd be safe to say that she may be one?

Yes, Mary ( peace be upon her ) is the mother of Isa (as).

Re: Has there ever been a female prophet?
Mary conversed with the Angel Gabriel, it is true, but she was not given a message to deliver. That's how I always understood it. However I have never read anything to indicate that women could not be prophets, rather I understood the lack of female prophets to be due to the fact that men were better placed socially to spread the message and get people to listen to them.

There are very few prophets explicitely mentioned in the Quran, yet we are told that prophets were sent to every nation/people. We don't know who those prophets were. Looking at local traditions of native peoples, some cultures are more accepting of women as spiritual leaders than men. It's possible that in such cultures a woman might have recieved the message, rather than a man. Not making a diffinitive ruling here, just saying it's possible.

I'm Maturidi and I've never heard that belief - not that I've delved that deep into aqeedah, but I think something like that would be mentioned at a very basic level.

Re: Has there ever been a female prophet?
I don't know how Muslims could say with a definite no that there haven't been any female Prophets while knowing damn well that the Qur'an did not disclose detailed information on every single Prophet.
But whatever, to each their own.
As for me, I believe Maryam, as, could have very well been a Prophet.

I've heard it from both Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and Sh. Faraz Rabbani independently and my fiance-husband heard it from his teacher at his school as well. And we only took basic levels.

It's so much that as the definition of prophet... the Ashari's at least have in the definition of prophet and messenger maleness. I'm not 100% sure how they got to that, ask a scholar for that one.
