Insha-Allah you are all in the best state of iman and good health!

Basically i am planning to start up little study circles in my house for my family, insha-Allah! But i have forgotten the du'a that we begin off by saying? Any one know of it? Ermmm, i am not 100% sure whether it is a specific du'a that we can start off by saying, but there was one specific du'a i used to hear back in my college when i used to go to them...so any help will be very appreciated!

Also, if you have any suggestions for how to make my study circles successful, please feel free to add any suggestions, jazak-Allah khair!

hm, the dua for the end of a gathering:

Hadrat Abū Barzah (may Allāh be pleased with him) relates that towards the closing days of his life, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may Allāh's blessings and peace be upon him) when he was about to leave a gathering, used to supplicate as follows:

SubhānakAllāhumma wa bi Hamdika
Ash-hadu an lā llāha illā Anta
Astaghfiruka wa atūbu Ilayka".

(O Allāh! You are the Most Holy and all Praise is for You.
I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except You.
I ask for Your forgiveness and turn in repentance to You.)

A Companion asked him, 'O Messenger of Allāh, you are now saying such words which you did not say before.' He said: "these words are an expiation of that which goes on in a gathering." (Abū Dāwūd)

I've seen the dua that Farah posted a couple of times as the reccomended dua to end a gathering, but as far as beginning one, I know in general its reccomended to begin by praising Allah and sending peace and prayers upon the prophet. So something like "Alhamdulillah rabil alimeen wassalatu wassalam wa ala Rasoolallah". Theres a lot of other ways too, some add "wo ala alihi wo sahbihi ajmaeen."
