Don't know about being ruler of the world, but there are narrations in Ibn Kathir's works on the day of judgment that describe how an Abyssinian man will destroy the Kabah and steal its treasures?

It's not true, because that doesn't happen until after a bunch of other stuff happens (and hasn't yet), which is probably going to take centuries.

First of all, America isnt the world. So i dont really see the point of discussion. Moreover, a black ruler wont be a sign of the day of judgement, it will be a sign of equality.

I'm pretty sure the hadith about the one that will destroy kaaba and steal its treasures mentions the man by name. Dhu'l-Suwayqatayn.

Kona, now youre gonna get someone to write an article on how muslims are supporting obama because theyre trying to fullfill a prophecy from their scriptures.

In case anyone didn't know, Abyssinia is Ethiopia.

Well, "Dhu'l-Suwayqatayn" isn't an actual name, it's just a description, literally meaning "the one with two thin, weak legs".

Indeed. I am somewhat familiar with this cataclysm, although I don't know that even the Ulema gave it a specific time period.

The cataclysm that is being referred to, involves the passage of a comet with a tail:

"A star with a luminous tail will rise from the east before the Mahdi emerges."

(Muhammad ibn `Abd al-Rasul Barzanji, Al-Isha`ah li Ashrat as-Sa`ah, p. 200)

"When this comet first appeared, the people of Prophet Noah perished, Prophet Abraham was cast into fire, Pharaoh and his people who fought against Prophet Moses perished, and John [Yahya] passed away. When you see that comet, take refuge in God from the evil of fitna."

(Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p. 32)

"When you see it, then store up one year's supply of food."

(Nu'aym ibn Hammad, Kitab al-Fitan)

So, as you can imagine, this event happens a bit before the appearance of the Mahdi, and is followed by lots of death and destruction.
