Default consequences of past sins?

assalamualaikum

I just wanted general feedback on these questions, (islamic and personal views)

can consequences of past sins keep occuring once one has sincerely repented?
can consequences keep occuring once that person has passed away (negative traits or occurances passed through the family lineage), if so what can someone do to remove them?

jazakhAllah khayr
wassalamualaikum warahmatullah

Walaikumusalam

Interesting question.

I dont have the knowledge of islamic view on this, but personally, i think that yes, it may come back as a test or trial to bring one closer or away from truth. And, could be removed with patience and sticking to whats right. Allahu Alam.

p.s. Knowing that one shouldnt throw out personal opinions, I shoulldve just stayed quite. but, i wanted to bump up the thread.

Allah is the most merciful indeed, if we were to weigh the actual consequences of the sins verus as what we perceive as a 'consequence' of those regretful sins, then its definitely an unfair measurement. may Allah subha watallah always bestow his mercy and make us the forgiven ones. ameen.

assalamualaikum

I understand that I should ask a more knowledgable/reliable figure about this from the Shariah point of view.

but i was hoping to get peoples point of view, as in from their personal experiences. (without asking anyone to spill all their darkest secrets or anything)
