yes, its complex and very strange to hear. i dont know who's telling the truth and who isn't, but the mere possibility that there was some 'improper' actions committed by an islamic public figure, a leader of a madrasa and a highly regarded individual (until this startling news) is a good enough reason that we shouldn't shove it under the carpet and pretend it doesn't exist.

I mean what if its true, wouldn't you like to know what becomes of this? what if you're about to send your child to this madrasa, shouldnt you know what kind of leadership the madrasa is under? this man is being entrusted with your children.

again, i dont know where the truth lies, but the mere allegations are enough that the matter be investigated and if wrong was done, the individual should be held responsible.

you don't shove these things under the carpet and act like it doesn't exist. if you do that, the next time this happens, it'll be more shocking and ten times worse.

What proof do you have that it is true? We are Muslim, we follow the sharia, and until there exists some sharai proof, it is just a disgusting allegation.

Putting things out in the public when they haven't been proved is shameful, especially when it is about prominent scholars like Sheikh Ibrahim. If it is false, the damage is already done, people think that something bad happened. His reputation is tarnished, along with the Darul Uloom in Buffalo, one of the only Islamic institutions in this country.

No one spreads the truth when it does come out as well as they spread the allegations. Its not as juicy, ey.

Firstly, Darul Uloom al-Madania isn't the only maddrasseh in America. There's a bunch all over the country, such as in Chicago, NYC, Maryland, Virginia, and Tennessee.

Secondly, the sister posted her claims and they were rejected. Then they sought advice from Mufti Taqi Usmani who encouraged them to go public. Moreover, the father of the girl posted up telephone conversations on facebook because people were responding precisely in the manner that you have.

I think there needs to be a thorough investigation by an independent commission of some sort to get to the bottom of things. If the Shaykh did any wrongdoing, then by all means, he should be called out and stripped of his position at the institution. If he committed a crime, charges should be pressed. If he's innocent, then the girl should issue an apology. Either way, something should be done and it shouldn't be allowed to fester or ignored.

I dont think a story like this would be possibly made up. I mean, which muslim guy would like to publicize his daughter's affair with her teacher?

It's absolute madness. If he really wanted to marry the girl as a second wife...why didn't he pursue her through his wife??

Teachers like that need to be away from madrasahs and mosques.
