There is no point in holding grudges, as they cause your heart to harden. We do not forgive others because we are weak, we forgive them for the preservation of our own souls. As Muslims we are patient and merciful because we, too, desire Patience and Mercy. This does not mean we turn the other cheek and allow people to do hurtful things over and over, it simply means that we gain wisdom from what has happened and do not allow the actions of others to embitter us.

Despite our flame wars, I think this is a good post. You should only punish a person if the effort is worth it, there's no point going all out for a nobody and lets face it everybody I know is a nobody regardless of how much they think otherwise.

When it comes to money, women etc its a different game all together, if somebody lost you money by accident and without malice then you should allow it and let it pass. If someone ripped you off or tried it on with your woman or something on that scale you should man up and do something about it. There's no point in dressing up like a ninja if you're going to allow people to do you over in that way.

If you want to be forgiven by Allah swt then you should forgive. Muslims do not hold grudges, especially against another Muslim. It is haram to avoid speaking to another muslim for more than 3 days, and the prophet saws, the better one is the one that gives the salam first. Holding a grudge does no good at all.

Well to be fair thats just the way he sis with everyone...he was and is like that with me and we are good frineds off islamica. I don't see it as jerkish ness i see it as over confidence. The man has achieved a lot in such a short amount of time.

You just need to know him better, to be fair though you did act like a bit of a jerk yourself at first. There shouldn't be any animosity between the Msulims.

I forgot to mention the repeated neg. reps. Thats when he went on ignore

Anyway I don't mind people if they act like jerks. It's only when they go overboard with it. I did try to be friendly, but his jerkiness increased donchaknow

I wasn't upset about it. It just qualified him for my ignore list. He's probably got an angelic and sweet personality in real life though

Grudges never have a good outcome. Just think about it logically, one person(s) going to get hurt eventually. Islamically speaking, it's always better to forgive. On the first page someone wrote "an eye for an eye" that actually is Mosaic law and not Islamic law. Also, we all have our shortcomings, but looking past these faults is going to make you a lot more likeable and will also make you the bigger person. So, take the high road and forgive who ever it is that you have a grudge against

Someone also mentioned in another thread ( I believe it was bro FreedomLover ) that being stubborn only results in losing more, and not gaining. That just struck a chord with me.
