eyebrows.
Asalamu 3alikum,
:sign: this topic has been in my head like for two weeks straight. ive almost lost sleep over it. i have read this fatwa like 3 times now. [2 or more in the past years] and i still can't figure out what does the word defective means when it is mentioned in this context. " 'This type of concession (i.e. to remove hair for the sake of eliminating a defective appearance)
Eyebrow & Hair Removal
Wouldn't women develop a defective appearance after they stop cleaning their eyebrows ( I never shaped them, but i was silly enough to clean them in HS..then I stopped..then this past summer, i was forced to clean it because it was extremely untidy-looking ]
now situation is very sticky...with heavy consequences..if I could pray salatul istakhara, i would..
a) i think i have that defective appearance NOW? and its extremely noticeable with any hijab but mostly with white hijab [i have asked for unbaised opinions, they also same the same thing]
b) if a is true, then I am permitted to clean 'em however
c) I cant just clean it, then i'd be beautifying myself for strangers?
if i qualify for a) then I am neglecting rule # c

Re: eyebrows.
yeh the last line is kinda confusing. i think "defective" appearances would be what they mentioned above. so unibrow, other facial hair, stray hair, really bushy eyebrows
i thought this was pretty important.

If one is not sure how to determine the normal size they should not act on the benefit of the doubt, but rather follow the more cautionary approach and trim less. What so called 'regular' [especially non-Muslim] people consider nowadays as the norm i.e. eyebrows that are shaped in particular unnaturals or reduced to thin lines can not be considered as acceptable in Islamic law due to the severity of the hadith.

Re: eyebrows.
ive been wondering
let's say you get your eyebrows shaped somewhat..and then, the hairs start growing back...SO..youve done 'wrong' once..ie...shape them..and now its time to clean up BUT if you clean the hairs up it'll be back to the shape that it was when you actually got them shaped..i.e. NOT your natural shape
so is that a sin second, third, fourth time around as well?
DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT?

Re: eyebrows.
I never could understand y women are so obsessed wiv their eyebrows.. :
Is it for other women or themselves or other men?
Cause men generally don't care much about eyebrows. As long as you dont have a uni-brow your fine.

Re: eyebrows.
lol Sally, I understand.
I'm not qualified to say anything on the topic ( but but but who cares its islamica) I think even if you wronged once you can’t be blamed for what you had done since as we grow we gain more knowledge. And most of us repent from the haram things after gaining knowledge… it’s like getting a *** job and then you have to get them replaced, you have to do it even though you might acknowledge doing so was haram in the first place.
hi sally.

Re: eyebrows.
I obsess over eyebrows, especially mine. Eyebrows can make you or break you. Honestly, eyebrows are of the top few things I first notice when I look at a person.
Every few months I would slightly change up the shape of my brows. I love the months when I am rocking the perfect arch.
I eyebrows.

man, i dont know. it's STILL hair.. if you look at yourself up front..HAIR that's not shaped right and is growing or naturally in place around the eyebrow in a very um, unshapely manner
that's as much as i can describe it.
i know 99999% of girls who've gotten their eyebrows shaped at least once will say that if they looked back their eyebrows were hideous..
naturally there's definitely stray hairs for a lot of girls...which taken out would count as cleaning up..but then for a lot of people cleaning up is relative..depending on the kind of eyebrows they have..clean up would look like they got em shaped
so i dont know... i confuse myself.
threading for life. waxing eyebrows doesnt work for me cuz i break out plus thread can touch on individual hairs and thus um, achieve better..SHAPE. oh wait. BETTER CLEANING
but threading hurts a LOT..like, a lot..tips: wash your face with hot water before you get threading done.. it losers up the hair so its not as hard ot pluck out. tho id say most of the annoying feeling is from the threading rubbing against skin..not friendly but surprisingly more friendly than wax.. also. sometimes if i dont wanna deal with the pain ill take a heavy dose of pain killers 30 mins beforehand..and convince myself its working.. itll work to reduce maybe 1/4th of the pain..not much

yeah, it's pretty tricky... hi back, btw
umm, it's so hard not to shape them.. i get mine done every 2 weeks..or i feel ugly..astaghfirullah im trying to find loops in the system and pass it all off as cleaning up but honestly i dont really shape shape them..that much...it's just all clean..no stray hair..i dont have pencil thin eyebrows by any means
