Do you know any apostates. Why did they leave Islam?

I feel I have lot any faith I once had, and can longer find a reason to believe. I'm not sure what's triggerred this change in me, but I feel that I've come to terms with the fact that I never had any sound basis (of course I had reasons, but they were too emotional and personal) for believing in the truth of the Islamic faith, and that it served as a way to make life livable and less depressing for me. It gave me hope in something much more beautiful than mundane everyday living, and as elaborate and sophisticated this system of worship and thought that can all fit under "Islam" really is, I can no longer fool myself into believing that it will tell me anything about the origin of the universe and my place within it.

i still feel like the rituals, the sense of community, and the divinely-inspired morality and purpose driven life that arises as a result of the islamic faith are still fascinating, especially for those who can find the beauty withing all of it.

Well Islam is simple, but at the same time it is vast. What is it that you're looking for, and where do you feel Islam is lacking for you?

Perhaps, it's something you hadn't realised Islam covers, or has a position on, and we could point you in the right direction. If this is the case, please feel free to ask any questions or share any thoughts, and we'll try our best.

Be careful bro, I know someone who has left Islam..left the belief in God, asks questions upon questions and wants evidence for Gods existence..but doesnt listen to the answers..nor searches for them. Ignorance can lead you the worst, inshaAllah pray what you're finding within Islam comes to you.

I think everyone goes through times when their iman is down...but then insha'Allah that is a good time to make du'a asking Allah to keep me steadfast on Islam.
Where you're at right now, I really urge you to make repentance and take your shahadah-you don't know when death will come. And the LAST thing you need is stories of why people left Islam. May Allah give you faith and may He keep all of us on Islam always and take us with Islam.

the islam is a religion which ask a lot of you. So only if you really want to make those sacrifes you can be a muslim. I guess this guy you knew wasn't really willing to make those sacrifes...

I know a few apostates. This one lady left Islam because she did not feel welcome. She had married into a family and when her husband started beating her, the family kinda turned their backs on her, and said she deserved it. Sisters in the community tried to help her, and they kept sending her back to him. in the end, the family's influence was just too strong. She said something like, if this is how Muslims are, Im out. She left and took her kids with her.

Another lady said she wanted to know Christ on a deeper level, which was kinda weird.
