There are two spaces on Earth where you can pray in any direction, in a full 360 degree arc, and you would still be facing the qiblah.
Same applies to space, you make a reasonable attempt to face the qiblah, and then you pray, and generally that would be towards Earth. Allah ta3ala is not so petty as to demand that you precisely face the Ka'abaa even in such particular conditions whereby you are not on the Earth's surface.
There is no artificial gravity in space yet, with the exception of magnetically assisted boots.

For once I agree with you.

So ... is this is a sign that Judgment Day is coming closer?

That might not work so well in deep space, or on the manned mission to mars that they're planning on.

I was referring to the event of the person being on board a space station or a spaceship, in either case just pray towards Earth.
As for being on another planet, that situation involves qiyaas and ijmaa' and when the time comes I'm sure we'll have it.

It would be pretty cool to be an astronaut, don't you think?

Re: Salah in a spaceship
In the film pitch black all the moozlums (well darkies) pray towards new mecca. I hope this helps.

I saw that movie.
A new Mecca for a new planet seems to make sense. I sort've hinted at the idea in my first post.

Re: Salah in a spaceship
You can't exactly create a new mecca out of thin air. It requires a rock from jannah, and prophets to place it somewhere,

You mean you can't just construct a sacred house on another planet, and use it as a direction of prayer there?
Oh, and welcome to Islamica

That too, but still, for a kab'ah, you'd need the rock
My nick is new, but I'm not. Sort've forgot my old password, and realised it was easier to register with a new one. My former nick was FreezingNomad.

Yeah. But, for a sanctuary of worship, is the rock necessary? I mean, Muslims in the beginning were facing Jerusalem in prayer, so in theory, constructing a sanctuary for worship for another planet (even if it's not exactly like the Ka'bah) would still be possible, wouldn't it?
