because those desi uncles are wahabis. most of them came here after working years in the gulf where they got brainwashed. i was a wahabi, i attended a wahabi mosque, i left the jamaat in disgust. you can call me an 'extremist' sufi if you like, but i like sufism. i dont agree with everything they do, but alot of it i do like. i like thier sense of spirituality, i think we all should become sufis just to tick off the wahabis even more, thier mortal enemies. about the only thing about wahabism that i actually agree with, is that backward cultural customs and practices should be removed. but that doesnt mean we should all start dressing like saudis and sticking a kaffiyah on your heads. wahabis seem to care way too much about other people's morality. this isnt important, people dying and starving is way more important. maybe you guys shouldnt read the sunnah so much and actually pick up a copy of the quran and see what it says in there. then you will actually learn that the core belief of islam, is charity for the poor, and eliminating class structure. I am often amazed when i post news stories of poverty, or how aid isnt being recieved in areas hit by natural disasters, and how very few page views it gets.

whats the saying? if you cant do anything about it, you should at least feel bad about it in your heart.

Ibn Taymiyyah was a sufi he belonged to the Qadiri Tariqa.

You have about as much clue as G5 on this subject.

oh brother, everyones a sufi now, first the talib now thamiyyah.

i will say one thing about him, not that it will matter in anyway shape or form to you. since your all dead set out to have a go at me.

i did read thamiyyah's demonic visions which is chapter 3 of one of his many volumes he wrote. and it was very interesting. however i dont agree with this whole black dog bit. it reeks too much of superstition that hazrat Ibrahim preached against. And that's important that we acknolwedge the previous prophets, because prophet muhammad himself, always used them as the standards for his own examples.

If Wahabis expose the shia beliefs to Muslims, that is not harrassment, to at least Muslims. Wahabis will stop doing that if shias decide to 'behave' and quit their abusing business for a while.

No they are not but shias are easily identifiable, with their 'thin beards' using a trimmer as if they have got some skin infection and the 'imami turban' that announces 'i'm a shia thing', the way the speak, is very different from how we speak, shias speak in a made up 'accent', also the qirat of Quran is wrong among shias, it's as if they are reciting Quran in Persian. And if you want to see the 'real harrassment' watch them doing matam in moharram, the bloody horrible show.

lol, some clueless poeple on this board...

Ibn Taymiyyah is sufi, Wahabi is this and that with no one mentioning Ibn Abdil Wahhab, we should all turn sufi JUST to tick of "Wahabis". LOL

Ibn Abdullah, I think engaging these dudes in discussion may be a waste of time. Maybe we should follow Allah's instruction about being approuched by ignoramus', and just say "Salamu 'alaikum".

You know full well their harrassment goes well beyond bothering Shias. It includes taking over other people's mosques, trying to make everyone Wahhabified, trying to remove any spirituality from the mosques they infect (even though, ironically, one of their idols, Ibn Taymiyyah was an open sufi from one of the oldest tariqas.). They are as much a scourge for Sunnis or more.

Sorry for follwowing the sunnah of personal hygiene. My bad.

You mean the sort of turban the prophet (saws) wore? Yeah, you're right, that's silly.

I think you're confusing "intelligence" and "eloquence" with some sort of accent. Understandable mistake.

Has any Shia ever physically accosted you to try to force you to do matam?

Have you even read any of my posts I have mentioned the writings of Ibn Abdul-Wahab many times.

Ibn Taymiyyah is well documented as being a part of the Qadiri tariqa whats so hard to understand about that?

I have never seen strong evidence to indicate Ibn Taymiyya belonged to the Qadiri tariqa other than the fact that he was once seen to be wearing the cloak of the Qadiris. Do you have any evidence for this?

The evidence can be found in the volumes of text that the man wrote. However I am aware that Anti-Sufi crew claim otherwise.

Its also wise to note what one would class as Sufism.
