I thought we were past the bashing and the misconceptions. I thought Islamica had grown up. But, hey, this is Islamica. Why am I not surprised. This thread is still full of people stereotyping Salafis/Wahaabis. Yeah, 'they all support 'terrorism' and are rude, conceited people who would not dare befriend people who follow a madhab.'

most of you here are wahabis to begin with. and you claim its 'practicing islam fully', no its not, its making up your own version of islam, and look what the end result of wahabism was? it was the taliban, who knew nothing about Islam to begin with. so dont give me this nonsense that your sect's beliefs is right, because its not. jinazam, revert, anderson etc are hardcore wahabi's, people like leagleagle for example, even support the wahabi lunatics of the lal masjid.

Subhan'Allah, if the taliban and the people in lal masjid are wahabis then it would be an honor for me to be a wahabi. im referring to how the lal masjid students and teachers were martyed and the mujahideen that make up the taliban.

Again bring proof that I or Jinnzaman follow the teachings of Imam ibn Abdul Wahab before you make you ignorant comments. If you knew anything about anything brother you awould know exactly what teachings and which school of though we all folllow but alas you fail to see whats in front of you..because..well you are ignorant.

You like to splutter and sqeal because it makes you feel ebtter about yourself, just like your incest thread and the sheer amount insults you love to thorow around. So I urge to really calm down and do some reading before you label people.

BTW I follow the Maliki school with a strong standing in tasawwuf. Just so you know.

Revert, don't bother explaining. I've tried it myself quite a few times. Got5 will still see you as a 'Wahaabi'. Anything or anyone he disagrees with he has the tendency to label a 'Wahaabi'.

Gotfiveonit,

Firstly, beware of using the term "Wahhabi" as a slur as al-Wahhab is one of the names of Allah (subhana wa ta'ala). The name of the Shaykh was Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab. So technically, you should refer to him as "Abdulwahhabi."

Secondly, the followers of Shaykh Ibn AbdulWahhab have a particular set of theological and legal beliefs. If a person doesn't follow their methodology, then he can't be labelled a "Wahhabi". While I consider "Wahhabis" to be not only Muslim and from Ahl us Sunnah wa'al Jam'ah, I do not adhere to their views in theology or jurisprudence that differ from the Hanbali school. This board is full of flame wars between me and Salafis on various issues. In fact, if you search the internet, a good portion of the debates I partake in on various forums and blogs have been opposed to certain beliefs or practices of Salafism. I even tried organizing a boycott against the al-Maghrib Institute, a moderate Salafi organization, for what I perceived to be takfeer of a reputable scholar. So accusing me of being a "Wahhabi" is actually extremely ignorant and downright false.

With that said, if a person denies the ahkam of Allah (subhana wa ta'ala), he is not only not a "Wahhabi" or a "Sunni" or a "Shia", he is simply not a Muslim. The reason why Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) declared Iblis to be a kafir is because he denied a direct command of Allah (subhana wa ta'ala). So the choice of adhering to the Shari'ah is not one between one sect or madhab over another, but it is between being a Muslim or a Kafir.

Also, referring to Salafis as suicide bombers is not only demeaning but inaccurate. The very origin of suicide bombing in the Muslim world originated from secular nationalist Arab groups. The later Islamist political parties that adhered to suicide bombing were not Salafi either. Suicide bombing has spread to Afghanistan by the Taliban who are Deobandi. So to blame only Salafis for this is just not accurate.

You do know that sheikh usama bin laden and sheikh ayman al-zawahiri gave bayah to amir mullah muhammad umar and have said that al-qaeda is simply one group under the taliban? and they re-iterated this stance of theres in a vid that was released 3 weeks ago. also the mujahideen in iraq and afghanistan are closely tied and share info when need be. in a interview b/t al-jazeera and mullah dadullah,ra, dadullah said that the mujahideen in iraq and afghanistan also go back and forth if the need arises.

edit, forgot to mention mullah umar and usama bin laden had each of their children marry in order to show their alliance and mullah umar wanted bin laden to take the position of amir but bin laden refused and told mullah umar to take it. mullah umar also refused to give up sheikh usama and in that same interview b/t al jazeera and dadullah, dadullah said even now knowing that knowing what would happen for not giving usama, he says he and the taliban still wouldnt have given up usama. allahu akbar.
