Have you ever had one?
I know there are books on the science of dreams, but i don't recall any of them speaking about lucid dreams. Does anyone know of any islamic resources on this?
I've had a bunch before, and wow they seemed so real.

my lucid dreams are generally the kind where I'm in a sci-fi Star Trek type ship, and space aliens are invading.

Dreams are of three types:
from shaytan
product of our own minds
from Allah (swt)

I'm pretty sure the sci-fi dreams are a product of my own mind

assalamu alaykum

my dreams always seem very real! I've had control of my dreams , once memorably I was having a nightmare and I realised i was asleep so i looked up at the sky, look upon myself with a bird's eye view and got out

what was yours?

Dreams are actually quite significant and yes there are 3 types of dreams and you nailed 2 out of the 3.
It's a common misconception but shaytan cannot give you a dream; however, he can enter them.
When one dreams, the physical senses and boundaries of time and space are erased. The world that one enters is basically the realm of the subconscious/soul.

The three types of dreams are:
1) Dreams that are a compilation of events that have happened through out the day that
leave an imprint (imagination).
2) Dreams that are symbolic in nature and have deeper meanings to them.
3) Dreams that have the ability to reveal future events. Im sure you have all experienced
them at some point in your lives. And no, it's not your neurons being all slow. These
are not dejavus.

Dreams, other than the #1, are usually inspired. And depending on how good your imaan is, your dreams can become clearer and more significant.
There's a whole spiritual discussion that can be pulled out of this but i guess this should suffice for now.

Peace

I forgot what I was dreaming about, but I once had a dream that I was having a dream that I was having a dream. It was a dream inside of a dream inside of a dream. I was so glad to have finally (officially) woken up!

It started off with my nan wantiing to run the marathon for my mum ..but it was inside with lots of escalaitors then while taking my nan i waved at charcters from Neighbours (aussie soap that i watch) then me my sis got changed into ball gowns with our hair open (both of us wear hijaab :S) and we had shalls and running around a big hall. Then after we had ran me and my sis ended up hugging my mum..who was there Strange!

What are you looking for, the color of my astronaut uniform or something? Do you really need to know every detail of my dream life?

No I was saying that its kind of common sense to say "Dreams come from our minds, our nafs (shaytan), and from allah". Where else exactly would they be coming from?

the ones where I'm flying are definitely the most enjoyable.... ahh how good it feels to fly...
If it feels that good in a dream, just imagine how awesome it'd be in real life
