The pledge seems like the ideal pledge but the name given to it is detrimental to the purpose in itself.

This was a problem with the sunni community. Sunni students of knowledge would bicker, argue and attack each other based on creedal issues and other issues. The scholars decided to make a move to end this bickering and thus the pledge was developed. In other words it was a problem with sunnis and the sunnis are trying to fix it.

Again this was an issue amongst sunni students of knowledge. It wasn't for political reasons. We have the Amman message for that.

That seems to be the new trend among students of knowledge. AE, Hood Bradford, Abul-Hussein Yusuf, etc. I'd say it's a reflection of changing priorities, maturity, and the first steps towards shaykh-hood.

Hell no! He means Ustadh Abu Eesa Niamtullah of Manchester, England. Ali Eteraz, for what he's worth is probably not even worth AE's son's boogers.

Re: The Sunni Unity Pledge
Sorry. I couldn't resist 'cause I know how you feel about Ali Eteraz.
I just like yanking people's chains sometimes.
