I've nver heard one of those excuses before. The only one i've really heard is "I don't consider myself a muslim anyway." Its not really my place to ask people why they aren't fasting. Its between that person and Allah, if people decide to tell me what they do and they don't do (like that guy did) all I can do is listen to them and let them know whats right and whats wrong. You can't force your beliefs onto other people, you can merely educate them about your beliefs.

another thing to keep in mind, if someone does ask you why you are not fasting, they are probably thinking that they are helping you in some way. Try and stay positive about it (even though it can be embarasing) rather than being irritated with the person for asking.

A friend of mine is sick, so he can't fast, which hurts his heart. Once, I said something like "when did you start fasting?" You know, because people sometimes start Ramadan different days and he yelled at me. Its like sorry. So I don't bring it up to anybody.
On a side note, my sister is a HS senior, at an Islamic school. Why do they need a parent's permission to fast? |

sometimes I don't. I get dizzy when I'm low on blood sugar and have passed out in the past. dehydration doesn't help.

I know a guy who said he doesn't have to fast because he spoke with Allah and Allah excused him.

That doesn't make any sense at all. There are tons of Muslims who convert in their 20's-70's and they still fast in Ramadan. It's not something you're "raised with" it's part of Islam.
