I know, however, it is the corporate media that spins them in whatever direction it wants to.

"You will take my question because I have been listening to your crap for two hours," Meyer told Kerry, according to the police report of the incident.
He then turned to a woman and said "Are you taping this? Do you have this? You ready?" the report said.
Clarissa Jessup, who contributed I-Report video of the incident to CNN, said Meyer gave her his camera and asked her to shoot video of him posing his questions to Kerry.
|
How does wanting his question recorded equate to inciting a riot?
Quote:
Meyer responded, "What did I do? Get off me ... get the f--- off me, man, I didn't do anything. Don't Tase me, bro, I didn't do anything."
Police noted that his demeanor "completely changed once the cameras were not in sight" and described him as laughing and being lighthearted as he was being driven to the Alachua County Detention Center.
"I am not mad at you guys, you didn't do anything wrong. You were just trying to do your job," Meyer said, according to the police report.
At one point, he asked whether there were going to be cameras at the jail, according to the report.
Meyer was carrying a business card advertising "TheAndrewMeyer.com 'Speak My Mind,' " the police report said.
The Web site features videos of Meyer taking part in several practical jokes. It also includes a "disorganized diatribe" that criticizes the war in Iraq and the media.
|
This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Of course he reacted adversely to being tased! And you're going to take the police's word for things? They're being investigated for gross misconduct, of course they're going to try to make crap up. Also, his website having practical jokes is COMPLETELY irrelevant to the story, I guess half the people on youtube deserve a good tasing then huh? They're clearly trying to discredit him, and who best to trust but CNN right?
We'll see how you like it when they come at you with a cattle prod- Allah forbid- But hey as long as you're a good cow....err citizen.... You should be alright.

According to a recent poll in Time, the US is only about 83% free. Canada on the other hand is like 94%

If Bush keeps this up he'll have an insurgency at home to deal with.

Re: UF student Tasered at Kerry forum
Okay, for those of you who are trying to illustrate this as a symptom of "Bush's fascist regime' - I think you're just plane wrong.
For one, the guy allegedly got tazed for being out of control at a Kerry event. And I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the federal government's evil arm isn't long enough yet to start using campus security as their party thugs.
Are the police in the States trigger/tazer happy? - yeh Was that a suppression of free speech - maybe, but not because the United States has devolved into a fascist mess. At least not yet... and certainly nothing from this incident has shown us anything in that direction. Give me a break.
As for this incident, we'll have to wait to hear what the people involved have to say before we have a clear picture on what happened.
