Default Microsoft Turns Commuter Bus into Office

I found this pretty interesting:

Microsoft turns commuter bus into office

How's this for a productive commute? New Launches has pictures of Microsoft's new fleet of commuter buses outfitted with desks, computers, and Internet access to help employees start the work day earlier. One of the buses even has a projector mounted on the ceiling so they can do presentations while stuck in traffic.

The buses are launching in China, allowing workers to clock in the minute they log-in from the commuter bus, which should translate into a much shorter day. I suppose this is a great thing for them since employees don't have to spend their own money on gas, and they get to leave earlier during the day because they've already spent time working during their commute.

Some might argue that the commute is a time to relax and unwind if you take public transportation, but this is not true if you drive to work every day. I know people here in Silicon Valley who have to fill up their gas tank twice a week because they have to drive at least an hour just to get to work. I'm sure they'd appreciate one of these high-tech commuter buses.

Google already has a similar service for its employees, but I doubt they count commuting time as part of the work day.

I used to live in Seattle, and most of the Seattle Area buses have internet. I believe Microsoft helped King County with funding the endeavor.

BUT....this is way too extreme.
