Iraq is a terrible mess and the West is largely responsible, however dealing with just this case, sometimes it is necessary to kill the wounded, since a wounded man can still kill you, even the dead are sometimes fitted with traps.

War brutilise , however there is no excuse for this gloating behavour.

Neither is this justification to label this as an example of Western democracy

Whether it's Muslims cheering or non-Muslims cheering, it is still disgusting and despicable and inhumane. I can't begin to fathom how one can cheer like that over a death of another.

Thats the same excuse they gave for the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. '''Oh, not everyone is like that.'' I might agree to the fact that not every single person in the U.S Army is a cold-blooded murderer [But hey - even that is arguable], but there are a large number of people in the U.S Army who've commited atrocities against innocent civilians in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Are we forgetting the rape of Abeer Qassim Hamza? Or the death of her family, including a five year old? Are we forgetting what happened in Fallujah? Hundreds of innocent people were shot dead on sight. Including children, Women and innocent Men. Infact it was reported that they used napalm bombs on Fallujah - the same ones which were used in Vietnam which burn the flesh off people. Or the massacre in the village of Haditha? And those are only a few that come to light, Iraqi and Afghani civilians die nearly everyday at the hands of American Soldiers.

Okay, when it comes to that video regarding the airstrike, we still don't know what happened there. They said there was a JTAC on the ground (an airforce dude with a radio who works with ground guys and talks to airplanes). What they do is find targets and communicate those to pilots - often electronically - and they can designate them with GPS coordinates or other means. So if this guy saw a large group of armed people walking along the street, he could have uploaded the coordinates which would have been displayed on the pilot's screen - then he gets verbal confirmation of the target and engages.

That could have been what happened - but then again it could have been won ton killing of anyone and everyone they see - something that happens all too often with American forces. We don't know.

I do think overall though this is criminal. They know that the civilian deaths will be so high, and they don't care. They'll drop several bombs on one target, miss with them all and kill a hundred civilians and say "oops... oh well". This is pretty near to driving a car bomb into a busy market.
