They did it - against one to 64 MILLION odds

Second round of triplets born to Ohio couple
Carson, Caden, Casey and Jessica, Jillian and Brian all conceived naturally

The Lasita family relax on their couch in Cincinnati. The family includes mom Victoria,
dad Tim, and three-year-old triplets, from left, Brian, Jillian and Jessica. Victoria Lasita
recently gave birth to second set of triplets.
CINCINNATI - Already the proud parents of triplets, Victoria and Tim Lasita had decided they wanted to have "one more."
"I guess we should have been more specific and said one more child, not one more set," said Victoria, 39, who delivered the couple's second set of triplets Wednesday after 34 weeks of pregnancy.
The Lasitas conceived both sets of triplets naturally, without fertility treatments.
"Holy smokes. Do you know what the odds of that are?" said Dr. Glen E. Hofmann, medical director of the Bethesda Center for Reproductive Health and Fertility.
The answer: about one in 8,000 for a woman to have triplets naturally, and about one in 64 million of her repeating the feat, according to Hofmann and Dr. Sherif G. Awadalla, medical director of the Institute for Reproductive Health in Cincinnati.
The Lasitas welcomed 4-pound, 2 1/2-ounce Casey Alexander into the world at 1:57 p.m. Wednesday, followed seconds later by 4-pound, 13 1/2-ounce Caden Bradley, and 2 minutes later by 4-pound, 9 1/2-ounce Carson Charles. All were between 17 1/2 and 18 inches long.
"Everybody seems to be doing well," said the father, 48, who watched the Caesarean-section births in a delivery room filled with 18 medical personnel.
It's still unclear when the triplets will go home to live with Jessica, Jillian and Brian, who will turn 4 in December.
Those three were born at 28 weeks, and all weighed less than 3 pounds at birth. Lung problems contributed to "a little rocky start," Victoria Lasita said, but overall, they're healthy.
The Lasitas said the new triplets will mean about 300 diaper changes a week, and about 168 bottles.
"You take what God gives you," she said. "And this is what he's decided we can handle."
The Lasitas have been married six years and have three grown children from previous marriages.
A New Brunswick, N.J., woman gave birth to her second set of naturally conceived triplets in May 2006.

Re: They did it - against one to 64 MILLION odds
As-Salaamu 'Alaykum,
SubHana-Allaah, thats a blessing and a HUGE test from Allaah in one. I could never stand to raise 3 infants at the same time. I've tried an infant, a toddler and a 6 year-old...it's tougher than it seems.
But then again, hey at least she knows what to expect and is ready for the 300 changes of diapers a week. I would have a stroke the first week.

That's 9 kids in total, why do they want another one still? Even things out?

No, they thought of "having one more" [child] after their first triplets - they just wanted another child to make it four - not six.
Raising that many kids isn't too difficult, especially if both husband and wife are pitching in with plenty of time, sweat and love. My parents raised six healthy kids mashallah, and I know other families that have more kids than us.
I suspect some girls just unconsciously think its the latest fad to display extreme revulsion at the thought of having more than two or three kids.
Come on ladies, MAN UP.

My parents had 8 kids and their first came when they were both still teenagers. AlHumdu-Lillaah, we were always fed and clothed as well as taught right from wrong but that does not make it easy. There will be days when a child will go through fevers and many other sicknesses that make it very worrisome for the parents. That aside, the financial responsibility and being able to provide the children a stable and safe home to live in is also a must.
Just because your and my siblings turned out good (alHumdu-Lillaah), does not make it easy to have kids and then to raise them. It is hard! 'Plenty of time, sweat and love' is hard to give to one person (or child) imagine having to give it several.

That's just great and I know people with 6 kids too. I have four siblings so that's a pretty large family too (aren't most Muslim/desi families?). But that doesn't mean it's not hard.
And some girls just don't want that many for various reasons, not 'cause it's a "fad" to not want a lot of kids (which I don't think it is; I actually think it's not that practical and a lot of a bother). 0-3 does it for me. Maybe 4 if I adopt one/a couple.

Yep, completely agree. My parents had 8 kids also, and I'm pretty sure it was never easy. Alhamdulilah we were also always clothed, fed, and educated, but things do go wrong. My father passed away unexpectedly when I was 14, leaving my mom with 8 kids to raise by herself. So I'll tell you right now, it's not easy our parents just make it look that way
