Yeah, it is.. under the American slavery system, the "house ******" was a slave who worked in the master's house. They received better clothing, better food, and better treatment from their masters, and were often expected to act as superiors or "overseers" of the other slaves. They were usually hated and resented.
In the 1960s, the term was popularized by Malcolm X to refer to black people who acted "white" or those who the Black Power movement viewed as co-opting their principles and racial identity in exchange for material gain & approval from "the man."
