The Korans came with a note saying they had been left by the Book of Signs Foundation, which claims to have distributed 30,000 free copies of the texts to residents throughout the city.
"If we went into a Muslim country and left a Bible, we would be in prison and then decapitated a few years later," Sue Ann Pieri, a resident who chose not to destroy the book, as other neighbors did, told MyFOXHouston.com.

Typical colonial and slave-master rhetoric. During the 50s and 60s, whites used to say to blacks "you would be worse off in your 'own countries'".
This is our country. We pay taxes. If they are going to still insist that we are not from here, then please refund us all our millions and millions of dollars of taxes.

True, but it seems like we never get anywhere. CAIR actively tries to paint Islam in a good light, and Republicans constantly say CAIR is a terrorist organization. Some preacher came to my college calling the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) a pedophile, and when I spoke up, he said I was a terrorist in front of a crowd of people.
To me, it seems like we're always taking one step forward, two steps back.

Actions depend on the intention. If the intention is to disrespect the Quran, then whoever burns a Quran will similarly be burned in the deepest abyss of Hell, unless they repent and Allah [swt] forgives them. If the intention is to protect and respect the Quran, i.e. when we wish to dispose of the Quran, then burning is done just so that the copy will not be thrown in the trash which is considered more disrespectful.
This reminds me of an incident in which Native Americans sued a museum because the museum had Native American bones on display. The Native Americans demanded that the bones be returned to them so that they could be given a proper burial. The museum replied with "but Native Americans don't bury their dead anyways!" But they missed the point. If whites feel that it is so important to bury THEIR dead, then there is something wrong when they treat Native American bones differently. Obviously it is disrespectful. |

Why do people think that dropping off the Qur'an is a form of dawah?
Dawah is through proper understanding of aqeedah and interaction with people of sublime character.
