Aurangzeb, as he was according to Mughal Records
Till the very end Aurangzeb never understood that the main pillars of the government are the affection and support of the people and not mere compliance of the religious directives originating from a foreign land in the seventh-eighth centuries.
His death after a long and ruinous reign lasting half a century, ended an eventful epoch in the history of India. He left behind a crumbling empire, a corrupt and inefficient administration, a demoralized army, a discredited government facing public bankruptcy and alienated subjects.

Of all the Muslim rulers who ruled vast territories of India from 712 to 1857 CE, probably no one has received as much condemnation from Western and Hindu writers as Aurangzeb. He has been castigated as a religious Muslim who was anti-Hindu, who taxed them, who tried to convert them, who discriminated against them in awarding high administrative positions, and who interfered in their religious matters. This view has been heavily promoted in the government approved textbooks in schools and colleges across post-partition India (i.e., after 1947). These are fabrications against one of the best rulers of India who was pious, scholarly, saintly, un-biased, liberal, magnanimous, tolerant, competent, and far-sighted.

Brother I guess you have not gone through Aurangzeb, as he was according to Mughal Records thoroughly...
it contains paintings and sketches about his rule as well as farhans, original edicts in persian by Aurangzeb, preserved at the Bikaner Museum... much much more relaible than a newspaper story...
Please take time to go through it...
Salam Alaikum !!!

Re: Aurangzeb, as he was according to Mughal Records
as salaamu alaikum,
its no secret that the extremist right-wing political movement in India has, as a matter of principal, made it their agenda to flatly deny, discredit, or outright villifiy the positive contributions of the Mughals to India's rich history. you'd have to be pretty uninformed or completely brainwashed to believe that. remember the destruction of the Babri Masjid? and the claims that are made by such folks only get more and more outrageous.
try reading the story from some place other than an anonymous blog that proclaims itself as "fact-india".

Re: Aurangzeb, as he was according to Mughal Records
I do not know much about Aurangzeb
But i know he had guts to stand and shout against KUFFAR of Akbar
I only used his name once in my poetry
And here it is
.................................................. ...............................................
Mrs Be Aql Khan Usta : Shaikh of humble mask with vanity bag
Sardar of camouflage in the robe of Aurangzeb
The silly cow seller of bargain bazaar
Selling ilmul hijab from naked tailor
Indeed this is better trade oh Sufiswine
Do not sell MAKKAH and MADINAH or any ISLAMIC sign
So sell vanity bag oh businessman sufiswine Alauddin Pir
Do not sell our MAKKAH or MADINAH tasvir
Do not say
Its alright its okay
To hang ISLAMIC signs on any wall
How offended would you feel if i place your picture on my urinal
How offended you feel if i place your picture on the walls of my loo
So stop saying things you do not have the clue
Shaikh of humble mask with vanity bag
One head of porkie pie liar with two human leg

Re: Aurangzeb, as he was according to Mughal Records
Aurangzeb was born when Mughal empire started to crumble. There was really nothing muslim about the mughal empire. Aurangzeb realised that and wanted to change that. perhaps he was harsh on hindus but atleast he wanted to break away from the non islamic mughals traditions
