Ya, but this is Sunni not Sufi........which is why I'm confused. I don't think I've heard of any Sunni people dancing or doing this kind of stuff

I don't think the authentic ones take drugs...

I think these people are well meaning but real Sufis don't take drugs. Some of the these things creep in I think as a result of ignroance... Allahu alam

I love YouTube - The Mevlana Rumi derwishes of Damascus

I love the song they sing, I've heard it at other sufi "gatherings"

?????

im not sure about the rituals of such dance but i dont think its homosexual if its just men,

arabs usually have seperated weddings and the men dance with the men while the women dance with the women... nothing homosexual about it, and id much rather have it that way then mixed dancing....

I know real Sufis don't take drugs but sometimes people aren't always so dilligent in following the rules.

Sometimes culture creeps in especially in the turkish Sufi community.

Sufism isn't neccesarily out of the fold of Sunni-ness..

Tassawuf in it essence is an essential part of being a Muslim however some people focus on the exterior actions of "Sufis"

Girls and girls dancing together is all cool... but guys and guys dancing together is... it's just that it's... hmm, not my cup of tea.

thats cool if its not ur cup of tea... ive been to weddings where it was mixed and dancing and those are fun too, im not putting them down but in a society where homosexuality is a norm (at least more so than others), its understandable to think its not ur cup of tea....
