Ballet wouldn't have worked, too much male-female interaction, and the girls are scantily clad.
An opera would have been difficult enough, ballet downright scandalous.
I'm not surprised they found it boring. Mozart probably wasn't the best choice. Western classical music is kind of an acquired taste.

Meh, it's a big maybe. The article was boring. Saudi's have access to Arab satellite TV and all the haramness it contains. A Mozart concert is like a lullaby compared to that. Now, if they'd done Tosca (or almost any other opera), with all it's love scenes, church scenes etc, and gotten away with it, THAT would have been interesting! |

Pow Wow would be okay, because it would be a non-European cultural event, it's just drums and chanting (no musical instruments) and except for the naked headed ladies, the clothes of most tribes are okay by Saudi modesty standards (some of the guys might need to wear leggings)

I went to the National Smithsonian Native American Museum. Its awesome. They have this one section on dresses of native americans its so modest its awesome. I think they had more hayah than some of the desi women i see at weddings.
I'm reading about the wars of pacification right now. Its so sad.  |
