they haven't made a public statement. they haven't even said anything about sensitivity training to prevent future incidents. as far as the lawsuit goes though, when something bigger happens down the line, it's helpful to have actual case law as precedent. you can't rely on some transit company just making a public statement as support for your legal argument in court. legal interpretation of black letter law by the courts is crucial in setting out the boundaries/factors/types of damages/etc of how that black letter law should be applied in real life.
