What would the precedent be? It's already against the law to discriminate like that in Canada (as far as I know)

it always helps to have case law to support you.. establishing it as precedent would help in that regard. it'll give you more credibility and also define how the courts interpret that black letter law against discrimination.

reminds me of when my eldest sister had a professor thrown out of U of T right before his tenure was to start.

My sister was pissed and she went all the way upto getting him dismissed. When my parents heard what she was doing, they were like "omg betee!! we dont do this!! woh sab yahoudi hain!!"

I cant even remember what class is it was ... at Uni. of Toronto ... but there were like 400 students at the beginning of the semester in that class and by mid-terms over 2/3rds had dropped out because the prof was such an idiot.

So my sister, she got all ticked off, saying she didnt come all the way to University (on a hard fought scholarship no less) just to watch some incompetent prof. mess up her chances.

She wrote up a complaint, collected signatures from the 100-odd kids that were left in the class, and just upped and went straight to the Dean's office. Right to the top of the food chain. Kept pressing the complaint, they investigated, found merit to her complaint, and ..... dismissed the guy.

hahahaha and a job well done! I wish I could do that to one of my professors but she's actually considered quite prestigious in the national scene of scholars. She's a freakin Nazi and seriously neurotic...and she's my academic advisor .
