Default Danish Muhammad cartoon reprinted

Danish newspapers have reprinted a caricature satirising the Prophet Muhammad.

They say they wanted to show their commitment to freedom of speech after an alleged plot to kill one of the cartoonist who drew 12 caricatures.

BBC NEWS | World | Europe | Danish Muhammad cartoon reprinted

Comment: It seems there is some kind of agenda here that these cartoons and other materials that have recently been printed against the Muslims.

Clearly the Kuffar do not learn their lessons well

This is going to be MOST intriguing. Is this making news in the UK?

Freedom of speech is not a good thing.

The ideal should be "freedom of good speech and the prohibition of evil speech".

Well... the US gov't thinks Hezbullah announcements are 'evil speech'. The Revolutionary Council of Iran, thinks that High School Musical is 'evil speech'. So who gets to decide what is evil speech?

Salahadeen: The ideal should be "freedom of good speech and the prohibition of evil speech".

That's a horrible idea, as Variable already provided examples.

I have a possible idea, but I'm thinking it might come off wrong.

I'm thinking that we need to publicly say that these are humorous. If that happens, people will be like "whoa, this isn't getting the reaction we wanted. Okay, this isn't funny anymore". And then they move on to someone else.

Yes, it seems bad that we could laugh at people/cartoons mocking and insulting the Prophet (SAW), but it might stop these people from giving us crap.

If you're the first to laugh at yourself, no one else laughs at you.

Anyone else agree?

lying is never a good thing, especially when its used to insult the Prophet (saw).

Yousuf: so you shouldn't be against something that is wrong?

First of all. I'd like to see some consistency here. As Muslims, all of the Prophets, peace be upon them all, of Allah, swt are all important and should be given the utmost of respect. However, when people around the world make offensive cartoons of the Prophet Isa, I don't hear of an outcry or riot coming from the Muslims. Why suddenly act all sensitive when it comes to the Prophet Muhammad? I'm not saying the cartoons are right, but stay consistent.

Secondly, the Muslims acted THE fool when the controversial cartoons of the Prophet, saw, were printed. It was beyond asinine how the Muslims reacted. Death threats? Violent riots? No **** the cartoonist want to continue printing because the Muslims are acting EXACTLY how they are accused of acting, barbaric and ignorant. Way to go Muslims, one for the team.

There should absolutely be Freedom of Speech & Freedom of Press [along with all the other Freedoms] across the board. If you dare question this or wish it to change to Freedom of 'Good' Speech & Press then watch how quickly your Qur'an gets ripped from your fingertips. Those are 'evil' words...maybe not to you and I, but the government may think so.

Be extremely careful when it comes to your Freedoms. I sure as hell will not be willing to give up my Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Press, or Freedom of Religion because a couple dumbasses thought it would be funny to print childish cartoons of the Prophet, saw.

I can't speak for any nation besides America, but here in America no one is allowed to 'spew hate' without feeling a hell sent wrath by others. Just over the last year or two, many people who have made comments that were deemed offensive and racist by others have been penalized and/or reputation completely tarnished.

No. Muslims should and need to come out and express their dislike of the cartoons, but in a dignified manner. Nothing is dignified about conducting violent protests, nothing is dignified in making death threats or killing someone because you don't like what they have to say...peaceful protest. Write to the newspaper and other newspapers of how you feel, then boycott that newspaper who is printing the cartoons. I think it is extreme and childish to boycott the entire country [Freedom Fries anyone :rolleyes], which puts blame and punishment upon the citizens of that country who are innocent.

There are many things a Muslim can tactfully do to express his anger against the cartoons without becoming a raving lunatic fulfilling the cartoonist instigating objectives.

Well, I guess the best thing is to ignore the cartoons.
