Democracy puts everthing up to the publics decision. "Governance of the poeple, for the poeple, by the people", is its motto.

I can tell you that every scholar who has the slightest standing as such will recognise the shirk that is laden in such a statement and thinking.

Governence belongs to Allah and he does not take partners with Him in it.

"And there are none who associate with Him in His Hukm (judgment)."

If democracy is to be accepted than that would mean if the society decides it no longer wants to uphold a certain obligation of Allah, then it will be free to do so.
