If the marriage hasn't been consummated, then how would they have lost their virginity?

I know a guy ... family friend .. he was married but his wife was a cheat, they divorced soon after, she went off a virgin still and so did he.

Okay, I knew somebody would say that.

The vast majority of marriages have been consummated though. Sure, you get those nikkahs where the couple don't live together and all that... but even then, they can legally do it.

She wouldn't go to sleep in the same bed as him and instead would sneak down to the basement and call up some guy she loved and talk with him all night.

Her MIL busted her. Taped the conversations and then presented them to the girl's parents, who became very defensive and verbally abusive and "took" their daughter back.

Its easy to think she was, but from all appearances, she wasn't. There were several family visits, and all along she agreed, of her own free will and all, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. No resentment, no objections, etc etc.

Maybe she didn't really realize what the heck she was doing, or maybe she was just playing around and didn't care too much about the sanctity of marriage.

Some people are just messed up.

Ibn, she might've broken up with the guy she loved and decided to move on so she married your friend. maybe your friend shouldn't have gotten married after "several" visits.
