Al-Jazeera is neither pro-Israeli nor anti-Israeli or pro-USA or anti-USA.

The stuff said in the first post isn't proof at all, its just a listing of circumstantial events that are unrelated but the author [Khalid] is trying to arouse suspicion.

Al-Jazeera is known for challenging the status quo - whether it be traditional Arab / Muslim opinions on Israeli and America, or whether it be American opinions and media messages on the region.

There's nothing wrong with that, and I for one, would rather have it that way. Let people see all sides of the argument and then let them make their own decisions.

of course al jazeera favors the Palestinians. Its an Arab news organization, after all.

It presents on alot of topics that are interesting to people in the middle east, and brings various viewpoints into some of their discussions. In their regular news reports and news magazine shows, they slant stuff in a direction that most of their viewers tend to agree with.

one thing that has started to happen is that Al-Jazeera has been putting an increasingly critical slant on their reports about stuff that militant groups do. Al-Qaeda, the Taliban and their pakistani affiliates, the Iraqi Al-Qaeda, the local extremist groups in different parts of the middle east, etc. Theres a couple of ways to think about that. Either Al-Jazeera's angle just reflects the public opinion of arabs in the middle east, whose view of these groups has been changing due to the various crimes theyve committed. Or, alternatively, theres some conspiracy at work where Al-Jazeera is being used to change public opinion rather than reflect it. who happens to be behind the conspiracy is something that varies in the different versions of the story

(that post is only about the Arabic al-jazeera because i've never seen the english one. the two have totally different editorial staffs and may well have different messages)

I think that's attributed more to the English Al-Jazeera, or Al-Jazeera international, than it is to the arabic Al-Jazeera.
