i've been told that 1. it was the Prophet (saw)'s favorite color, 2. it was the color of his turban (most frequently?) and 3. the flag of islam (during the time of the Prophet (saw)) was green.
though i've only seen hadith about #2.

Thanks for the “No” .My question was really quite simple; as such I’m quite amazed at the responses from forum members; what on earth is the problem?

True, but it is a nice gesture that they are lighting the Empire State Building in honor of Eid. If they asked us all to agree on an appropriate color, people would be arguing about which one until next Eid, and for every Eid thereafter .
Eid Mubarak!

Well, I've seen X-Mass stuff in Pakistan, which is a Muslim country, but has a Christian minority. But the point that people are making is that it's not analogous to compare a secular country to one that self-identifies as a religious state. I think you know that, but it seems you need it spelled out for you. I'm not sure why you're amazed at the responses since you've been here for quite some time posting the same kinds of things. At any rate, I'm amazed that you made it through the Islamica crash and are so faithful to us! Bravo Roberto!

Bro, you have been here a long time and you post the same old provocative rhetoric, yet you are still suprised when you irritate people.

Many countries which you define as secular consider, believe that they are Christian and indeed are recognised as Christian except of course by some Muslims.
Your comment re what I need is abrasive and will be ignored

Garbage in, garbage out.
If countries have a particular state or official religion, then that country is described as such. Islam is the state religion of almost all Muslim countries. The USA and many other countries which you consider Christian do not have a State religion, be it Christianity or other. That is the defining standard.
And yeah, there's no reason why you're surprised. Either you're playing dumb or you really are dumb.

It was a simple question which required either a “No” or a “Yes”, with examples.
Your response indicates an embarrassment, or fear, which I suspect arises out your unwillingness to face the fact, that in many Muslim countries the treatment of non Muslims is a disgrace. Believe it, or not, I was offering the chance for that situation to be, at least partly, offset by evidence to the contrary.
You and other chose to be irritated.

Why would anyone of us be embarrassed at the treatment of non-Muslims in Muslim countries?

As usual you’re not only offensive, but also wrong; the country I live in has an official religion which is Christianity
