oh ya, then i guess you could include kashmiris in that too, since kashmir is india's only muslim majority state, and part of india

'interbreeding'? just how stupid are you?
Fatwa against Salman for attending Ganesh puja: IBNLive.com > Videos here you go, watch the video yourself, look at the photograph below. a muslim who prays to an idol, ceases being a muslim till he takes his shadah that there is only ONE, just ONE god. and no hindus dont claim to be monotheistic, in fact you would be insulting them if you called them that.
MATTER OF FAITH: Muslim organisation says Salman should read the Kalmas all over again.
Fatwa against Salman for attending Ganesh puja

New Delhi: King of controversy Salman Khan is in trouble yet again. A Muslim organisation has issued a fatwa against Salman for attending a Ganesh puja.
The barely-based Daarul-Ifta-Manjar-e-Islam has acted against Salman after the actor took part in the Ganesh Puja celebrations in Bombay.
The organisation said unless Salman reads the Kalmas all over again, he would not be considered a Muslim.
The order was issued as Islam prohibits all kinds of idol worship.
Salman, who had just been out of jail in the Chinkara poaching case, celebrated Ganesh mahostav with his family on Monday.
The Khan family had brought home Ganesh idol for one and a half days.
Salman matched steps with his step mom Helen with his nephew on his shoulders.
The actor went out dancing during the procession before immersing the Ganesh Idol into the sea.

Re: Bollywood star branded Muslim 'non-believer' after Hindu festival
First of all, I dont think anyone should be ordered to do anything. If someone has strayed off the path of their religion, then people shouldn't force them to get back, instead they should remind them of their wrongdoing and help them.
Now that being said, why is everyone after Salman? What about Shahrukh? And the other muslims in the entertainment business?
I understand why the clerics want him to reaffirm his faith, but by forcing or ordering him to do it won't really help. There are nicer way of doing things!

I don't think it's a matter of force. The fatwa simply stated that they commited a act of shirk, and were therefore no longer Muslims. They didn't have to take shahada again, it was their choice.

hes right, most hindus will say they believe in One God, just like the pagans of the time of Muhammed, peace and blessing of Allah be upon him. i believe the idols are considered a 'means' of communicating to God.

Christians believe they worship only one God. That doesn't make any of them Muslim or make any of their beliefs Islamically correct.

Re: Bollywood star branded Muslim 'non-believer' after Hindu festival
I'm willing to wager Salman Khan really doesn't care whether he's hindu or muslim... and he probably doesn't care about the fatwas against him.
He's just an actor. An entertainer. I may hate him with a passion but not for his religious inclinations. Why does everyone bother so much?

ok, but why now? I mean, this isn't something new, they have been acting up for a very long time, so why have the clerics decided to give them a fatwa now?

I think it is funny that Indian Muslims are always dissing Bollywood.. they are like the right wing conservatives who diss Hollywood.

Hinduism is polytheism. Just because they also believe in one commanding overall god doesn't mean it isn't polytheistic.

What does them being nice have to do with anything? Fraternizing with them and taking part in their religious ceremonies are two completely different things.
