ISoc had Charity Week for The Bangladesh Cyclone Appeal, and alhamdulillah it went quite sucessfully even though there was only about 7 of us doing it, but I was worried it was gonna bomb (is that teh wrong word to use ? ) so I'm v pleased about that.
Uni...umm...its cool..when i actually manage to wake up on time lol. And I did my first essay of the year, which I thought was the worst essay I've ever written in my life but I had B12 yay! (grades go like: c8 c9 c10, b11 b12 b13, a14 etc). It was about Islam so my lecturer reckons I was much more critical of myself for that reason. He's probably right but...then again I reckon if my lecturer was Muslim I probably woulda got a lower grade...I dno..hmm..
Anyways belated Eid Mubarak to you too! How was your Eid? How are you? How's madrassah? When do you finish? Or have you already ? Hope all's well inshAllah!

"Say: 'Are they the same – those who know and those who do not know?" (Surah Al Zumar Verse 9)
salam,
Next time, please read the Verses in their Qur'anic context, instead of cropping specific lines out of the Verses. The Verse is comparing believers to disbelievers; NOT Sunni scholars to non-scholars:
"When harm touches a human-being, they turn to their Lord and call out to Him; but when He grants them a blessing from Him, they forget that they called out to Him before, and they associate partners with Allah to mislead others from His path. Say: 'Enjoy your disbelief for a while; you are indeed among the dwellers of the Hellfire.' Then there are those who devote themselves during the night, prostating and standing, being apprehensive of the Hereafter, hoping for the mercy of their Lord. Say: 'Are they both the same: those who know and those who do not know?' Indeed, only those with understanding will take heed." - (39:8-9)
Nah, well I have college on Tuesday evenings (5-8pm)... And I already missed a class unfortunately. Too busy already...
ISoc not going so well.....there werent many Muslims to begin with...this year it looks like half of them left and no new ones came
There are quite a few on the other campus...but thats kind of far away... so i dont know how things are gonna work out if I try and collaborate with them (i.e where events should be based?). I dont really know anyone there either...they may need to have on campus reps but.... I'm just gonna stick posters up over there for now and see if anyones interested to be part of an ISoc based on my campus....... I wonder...
