No, I'm not feeling much pressure either, the only pressure they give me is "nothing lower than an A!" "why?" "because no one will marry their daughter to a garbage man!" "yes, you're right ammi
I feel like my childhood memories are dissipating too, which is sad because I have so much fondness for them. That memory of the monkeys is really faded, it's literally just two images in my head and then the sound of the roof of the car creaking. I think the earliest memories I have were when I was 3, the only way I can tell was because I have memories of the Gulf War when Saddam launched scuds at Saudi Arabia, I remember we taped all our windows and were given gas masks to wear, and there was a scud which landed close by which caused some of our windows to crack. Okay you must have some cool memories, think hard!
Arabic has been tough so far, there are so many more verb forms than you have in English, but subhanAllah if it brings you closer to the Qur'an then its worth the effort. The thing about Hadhrat Isa alayhi salam might be true, from hadith we know that he will descend at a masjid in Syria, so that could be the masjid Allahu alim.
Nursing is a really good profession, it pays well too and you don't have the stress of a doctor. So good choice. I'm thinking of doing Marketing now instead of Finance, since it's the same core classes as Finance but there are less requirements. Plus there are so few halal jobs in Finance it doesn't seem like a good idea. Writing is still my main thing though, but you know, the desi in me can't accept relying on a Journalism degree alone. I guess I'll never escape the darkness of desiness.
Alhamdulillah last night was the first night of sleep of over four hours that I've had in a while, and it's a long weekend, so yay! You're posts aren't boring, so don't worry
I also have 2 bros and 1 sis, though one of my brothers and my sister are half-siblings. They are all wayy older and all out of the house but none of them are married yet and they don't seem very keen on it, so I might be the first in my family to get married even though I'm the youngest
One of my earliest memories of traveling is when we went to Abha, which is a rural city in Saudi Arabia, where they have this national park with monkeys roaming around freely. We were in a car and the monkeys actually jumped on the car, like a whole bunch of them, and they kept on jumping around on it, they probably made dents in the roof, I dunno
Well since I lived in Saudi so long I should have learned more Arabic, but expatriates live a pretty sheltered life in Saudi where you don't really need to learn much of Arabic to get around; I guess because back during the time I was there the work force was composed mostly of Fillipinos and desis. But I'm taking a two year Arabic course right now so inshaAllah I'll become fully fluent soon
I like Malaysia too, it's kind of a blend of Islamic and Asian culture, and it's modern and clean. Hmm well Japan is high on my list of places to visit, so are Syria and South Africa. I kind of want to go to places where I feel I could learn something, I also want to see really nice mosques like the Umayyad Mosque (many believe Hadhrat Isa, alayhi sallam, will descend there when he returns). Here's an epic masjid in Malaysia
Have fun with all the sciences, today I opened my old Psychology textbook and read the module on Motivation, and I was like "wow this stuff is interesting why am I not doing it anymore?" But alas, I can't triple major, I'm still trying to get into the Finance program and do that along with Journalism. I'm still kind of indecisive about it, how did you figure out what you wanted to major in?
Ok Fajr in 30 mins, and then after that I'll sleep for...a few hours...if lucky (inshaAllah)
Nah its all good...After a while you'll reach the stage where you won't need to study because you'll have a hunch about things 99% of the time...
Whats the time there ?
But though it seems like a lot, they are all multiple choice so it's not so bad, just tedious. The questions are mostly physics and chemistry based but applied on astronomical objects, they range from "calculate the mass of jupiter if it's orbital path was twice what it is now and it revolved around the sun in 700 days" to "True or false: the sun is a star".
I definitely recommend such a class cuz you learn about cool stuff like black holes
So how's the psych project coming? Too bad everyone is just leeching off you lol, but you seem to enjoy psych so
Anyway, I never thought of myself as a FOB:, but I guess I am 'technically'. But then you're an ABCD. Ironic since you speak Pashto and I don't speak Urdu lol.
So how many siblings do you have? Brothers, sisters? It's nice being the youngest eh, I'm the youngest too and it seems we're wayyy too spoiled, but then the 'compensation' is that we become a slave to each of our older siblings and our parents, too many people bossing you around
I haven't been to Egypt, but I've been to Morocco and I think Tunisia. When I was much younger my family used to travel a lot so we went to a lot of places - Australia, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Turkey, etc - but in the last 8 years I haven't gone anywhere other than visiting friends and relatives back home in Saudi or Pak. So if you could visit anywhere, where would it be? (other than Makkah and Madinah
Arite now I have to get ready to go to New Jersey for MSA East Zone conference, someone else is gonna have to drive cuz I only got 3 hours of sleep
