	Well for one thing, read the US intelligence and national security community's assessment. A lot of information is now declassified. The best thing to do is go straight to the source and see how they viewed Saudi. Start with the Truman Doctrine and look at the Carter Doctrine to see how they viewed Saudi Arabia. In terms of the history of the Saudi state and the British support for it, see the work "A Peace to End all Peace."
